Cocotte — Restaurant in Milan

I barely leave 2-star reviews, unless I get thoroughly disappointed. We have been here on a weekend when they serve “menu with fixed 20€.”

We took “avocado toast” and “egg salmon Pancakes”. Both were such a huge disappointment! • Avocado creme was barely green. It was more brownish green and not abundantly spread on the bread. The bread was a disappointment (like those cheap white-bread packages at supermarkets for less than a euro, which I didn’t expect from a place introduces their business as bakery too. the whole dish was like a wrap up work of 2 minutes without care and passion.

•Salmon pancakes! I can’t explain the surprise of the first bite! This recipe is always made with SALTY pancakes, NOT sweet pancakes! Imagine the intense salty taste of smoked salmon on sweet pancakes! It’s a no-go! But it seems that they don’t have enough time or passion to prepare a salty pancake for this recipe as they serve pancakes with fruits as well.

• the juice they serve at the beginning is not fresh and it’s full of added sugar. However the portion is small too. Imagine breaking your fast with an industrial packed -orange juice full of preservatives and sugar (I prefer to pay more and get what I deserve rather than no choice at all.)

•cakes at the end: you have 3 options to select from. The cheesecake is a huge disappointment! Not fresh at all. And the cheese is not the proper cheese for cheesecake. January 2017 - Good Breakfast at a very Low Price! (It might depends on what you take)

The service at the Table is included in the price and the bar/restaurant is placed in a very trendy location and area.

2 Marocchino (1,30 Euro each) + 1 Nutella Brioche (1 Euro)= 3,60 Euro :)

The service is OK, not very fast but might be because I was really in such a hurry and didn't want to wait even 2 min for the waiter to order. I ordered directly at the counter and in less than 5 min everything was on my table. The waiter only made some confusion with the orders from another table but the a really bad point is that they don't accept credit paymentscore for purchases lower than 7/8 Euros!

Overall the price was really good in comparison to other bars nearby (Foodies or Caffè Delle 5 Giornate) for a very basic breakfast but for example Brunch is 16 Euro and just 1 Marron Grace is...

Pancakes were served in a bowl beneath the rest of the toppings, so it was very strangely presented and inconvenient to eat. The toppings were all very wet (probably from the poached eggs not being drained properly) so there was a soup at the bottom of the bowl which made the pancakes very soggy. The poached eggs were broken and undercooked, the asparagus was overcooked and the salmon was dry. Bacon was also too salty. Coffee didn't taste good either. The chocolate pear cake was tasteless.
