The most Horrific experience I have ever had in any restaurant in my life. I went there on a Saturday for lunch with my girlfriend. We waited for over 10 minutes for a table that nobody lead us to despite being ready. We showed oursleves to the table only to be received by a waitress who seemed angry at the world and especially us for showing ourselves to our table. We somehow knew from the moment she gave us the menus that things were about to go terribly wrong. Luckily a friendlier waiter took our order and although he struggled to understanding what we would like to have, he was gentler that the monstrosity that was to follow.
We ordered two glasses of white wine and the waitress brought a closed bottle. Before she opened it, I kindly clarified that we ordered by the glass and not the entire bottle. She immediately snapped, stating the name of the wine aloud and commenced pouring.--Shocking....
All the while, my girlfriend was directly under the draft of the Air conditioner but was afraid to ask to change tables. I asked the waitress if we could and she gave us look as if she was about to explode. "No!" She immediately snapped as soon as I popped the question ". I asked "why not?"(my girlfirend tried to stop me from asking fearing the imminent retaliation of our disgruntled waitress) she said "We are no longer serving lunch there" (it was 2 tables away). She then turned off the Air conditioning, looked at me, and said-- "it is ok now?!"
At this point we contemplated just leaving the table. I don't know why we didn't and what kept us seated but we hoped that atleast the food would be decent and we could laugh off the scenario. Unfortunately the food was also a major dissapointment. The mozzarella was rock hard and dry, the prosciutto looked a day old, my risotto had chunks on green and red pesto strewn over it and tasted as if it came straight out of a barilla jar and the whole evening was a mess.
I am now beating myself up for having kept calm through all of it and not having created a scene. I guess I so badly wanted to spend a relaxed evening with my girl. At the end of it all, I just feel like I paid them to humiliate and embarass us--I left the restraunt 60 euros short and my day ruined.
It seems that this waitress has never recieved the proper training and it amazes me how people can acknowledge this place as a vaild and reputable dining establishment.
What an utter...
Read moreTERRIBLY RUDE STAFF! We went there with some friends to have an aperitivo. I went there directly from work (I'm a teacher btw) so I had a casual and tired look! The place is super beautiful but the staff kept looking at me as if they blame me for not having "elegant" look! The waiter who served us was super rude! barely used "Prego (you're welcome), grazie (Thank you), per favore (please)", He was at our table and I asked him how much I should pay, he said "aspetta un attimo (wait a moment)", in Italian language when you don't know a person you refer to them as third person in order to be polite specially in restaurants or university, he referred to me as "tu" without using any polite words and I was offended! He barely looked at any of us, did not smile at all and acted as if he is feeding us for free!! (which again does not give him the right to act like that) He was middle aged. He came to us in the middle of our conversation and told us - I emphasize: without saying please, thank you, or having any sort of smile or eye contact- to pay and we said should we pay right now or when we are leaving, he said you must pay now! I think I'm gonna go there again with at least 10 of my crazy friends dressing like zombies to show them they do not have the right to disrespect people because of their clothes, or style. Who are they to judge!!??! At the end when we were leaving the waiter was in our way, and without saying anything the 5 of us waited for him to finish pouring the drink for another table, he finished, turned his back to us and went to a room as quickly as possible to avoid any sort of "Sorry for waiting, I hope you enjoyed your time, I hope you come back here, have a nice evening, ..." absolutely NOTHING. Again, very rude! just go there with your usual outfit to see what I'm talking about and it's ironic since whatever I was wearing was way more "elegant" than...
Read moreAtmosphere can make or break a meal, which is why Globe Restaurant and Lounge has taken full advantage of its Milan location to deliver a superior dining experience. On the 8th floor of the COIN Building in Piazza Cinque Giornate, you’ll find a nightlife staple, with sophisticated restaurant design and unique charm. I opted for lunch on the terrace, which offered a breathtaking view of the city. I was able to relax and sip a glass of wine while the city bustled below.
I started my lunch with the “raw special” dish, consisting of slices of raw tuna, salmon, amberjack, and swordfish. I also indulged in raw Sicilian prawns, which came highly recommended by the server. Absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, the raw seafood definitely got me excited for my main course.
Scrumptious Kobe rump steak tataki, topped with a creamy bean sauce and sweet caramelized red onions has to be the most wonderful thing I’ve ever tasted. The meat was tender and juicy, and the creaminess of the sauce complimented it perfectly. Even though I had enjoyed every last bite of my food and was feeling full, I knew I just had to try dessert. I opted for something light – the raspberry parfait in mango sauce – because fruit is always a great way to end a meal, right? Right! The parfait was topped with a red, ripe strawberry, which I saved for last, of course.
I can’t wait to come back to Globe and enjoy a cocktail, unwind in the lounge, and even try their dinner menu. The whole experience was amazing, from the views on the rooftop to the great food, and the friendly servers. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy delicious cuisine in Milan, other than dining at Globe...
