This restaurant came by way of a very high recommendation from our hotel concierge who felt confident, we'd love the food and would return from the restaurant satisfied with a night well spent. Before confirming the reservation (Reservations in Milan overall are strongly recommended) the gentleman from our hotel encouraged us to first check the restaurant out online to see if it indeed appealed to us. The photo that appears most from this restaurant is their Pièce de résistance (not sure how to translate that into Italian) which is the crab carcass (crab shell) re-stuffed with pasta, tomato sauce and of course crab meat. That hooked us and that's ultimately what we ordered. We also ordered the coconut ceviche (the fish Dujour was yellowtail) as an appetizer and we really enjoyed that!
Service was exceptional WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE. All the wait staff was kind and deliberate in orchestrating a spectacular dining experience. The mixologist explained which cocktails would be to my liking and even went a step further offering to customize to my taste. Wonderful!!! One short woman appeared and she was not apart of the wait team that assisted us throughout the night. Her appearance and attitude put an awful damper on the entire night and left us with a poor taste in our mouths (-1 star = 4/5). She appeared out of no where and was very abrupt and crass for no apparent reason. But she was an outlier. The rest of the staff made the price points at this establishment well worth it.
Our dessert was just okay but I believe we could have done a better job selecting or if not defaulting to what was familiar - cheesecake with red fruit.
All in all, a beautiful dining...
Read moreWe've been passing by this beautiful restaurant & bar numerous times, but our timing was never quite right. Finally, we had a free evening, so we swung by. We sat at the bar to give us an opportunity to speak with the bartender and check out his drink making skills. We found out the specialty cocktails were created by him. Not only is Paolo creative, he's also charming and hospitable. We tried the NY to Milano, Paris to Milano, The Unique, an a gin based martini. Food was excellent too; we had the red shrimp, tuna tartare, and tartare with strawberry. Super fresh and delicious. We went back for dinner with another couple. Wow. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I love the seafoam and yellow coloring, the circular dining room table with floral decoration in the middle, the chandelier, the wallpaper. It's just absolutely gorgeous. We had their lobster pasta special which was absolutely fresh, perfectly al dente. I had the tiramisu for dessert and though pretty, it was just too much cream for me. I'm delighted that we found this restaurant. It's unfortunate that it's towards the tail-end of our trip because I would love to be able to go back a...
Read moreWe enjoyed the spaghetti w clams starter and the branzino and both were very good. We didn’t rate higher because the service was bizarre. Our server asked for our order a few minutes after seating us, and when I was ready ordered the gnocchi and he said I couldn’t have that as a starter because it took too long and they were probably out of it. But we ordered something else and he was pushing the raw fish on us for some odd reason. And then their was this casually dressed guy surveying and watching the waiters and telling them what to do. He was like waiter police and he was pacing around the restaurant. It was plain weird and uninviting. We...
