We recently had dinner here and I strongly urge any tourists visiting Milan to avoid this place. From the moment we arrived, the experience was below par. The head waiter approached our table and began speaking in Italian. It was clear we were tourists, so we asked if he spoke English. He curtly replied, "No," and claimed to only speak Polish, Russian, and Italian. We ordered the steak & beef skewers wrapped in bacon and asked the non-English-speaking waiter to recommend a bottle of wine. Shortly after, the manager came over, and I asked if he spoke English as well. He also said, "No." Amused, I spoke to him in Greek, and to my surprise, he suddenly responded in English! The wine was great, and the skewers were tasty. However, I was highly suspicious when the steak arrived five minutes after placing our order. Considering a medium steak takes 8–12 minutes to cook, it was immediately clear something was wrong. Unfortunately, the steak arrived cold, which only raised more red flags. I mentioned this to the female waitress, who was apologetic but could only shrug helplessly. She quickly removed the plate and apologised again. Ten minutes later, the manager brought the steak back and explained that the chef had left early and he had cooked the steak himself. When I pointed out the high-speed timing, he seemed embarrassed. Given my background in restaurants and food, I told him that the steak was obviously cooked before we even ordered it. When the steak was returned to our table, it had already been sliced into pieces and when I asked why, the manager replied, "to cook quicker." From then on, the manager and waiter avoided our table entirely. I didn’t eat any of the steak. When I asked for the bill, the waitress informed me they had removed the steak cost (€22) as a goodwill gesture. However, I insisted on paying the full bill because I felt it was important to share this experience. Before leaving, I handed the female waitress a €50 tip for her efforts. As I noticed the manager and head waiter busy wiping tables, I looked directly at them, called them spineless, and left. Neither of them even acknowledged me. Don’t eat here. If you want a better meal, you'd be better off grabbing a burger at KFC or McDonald's. It's a shame that places like this prey on the 8.5 million tourists who contribute to Milan's economy. My overall take on Milan so far: • The city itself: 10/10 – Absolutely wonderful. • Fashion scene: 15/10 – Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. • Quality of Italian food: Surprisingly disappointing – I've had far better Italian cuisine in other countries that take pride in tradition and quality. • Staff attitude: Poor – They could use a lesson or two in basic courtesy. Best tip: Learn to use Milan’s...
Read moreWhen we arrived, the waitress didn’t let us sit at the table in the shade instead we had to so in the sun at 2 o’clock, when it’s very hot! We ordered pasta (15€) and risotto (18€) and 2 beers (not bottle of wine or champagne) and were charged 59€. I didn’t check the bill but later got curious why so much. Of course I understand that if you are a tourist be ready either to check every bill you pay or be overcharged. Unfortunately the owners or the manager can’t understand the matter of my complaint. I DID NOT state that the prices were high. I stated that the restaurant staff are OVERCHARGING. If you don’t know the meaning of this word, please check the dictionary and learn mathematics. And please don’t teach people who come to your city from other countries that their perception of what is ’hot’ or ‘cold’ is wrong. People simply might be used to another weather...
Read moreFood was fine but they charged 5 euro per person for service and 4 euro per person for water. They also got half our order wrong, serving us a different pasta dish from the ragout I ordered and sparkling instead of still water- and we were still charged for the incorrect dishes. On top of this, they threw our food out when I asked for takeaway for the half of the plates that we still had left. None of the staff were apologetic about this and I felt very uncomfortable as they were just shouting at each other when I told them...
