Ristorante Pizzeria Mela Rossa left us with an unforgettable dining experience. The charming atmosphere, highlighted by a beautifully painted feature wall and an open kitchen showcasing a skilled chef crafting pizzas in a built-in oven, set the perfect tone. We started with a mixed meat platter that impressed with its freshness and diverse selection.

The English-speaking waiter, a fantastic and friendly guide, recommended the Spaghetti sotto coperta – a seafood-infused delight served in spaghetti with a crusty bread lid. The explosion of flavors in this dish was truly exceptional, making it a must-try.

For our main course, we indulged in the Villa Basilica Pizza, featuring fresh dough and perfectly cooked with a delightful topping of ham and basil – a true masterpiece (bellissimo). Complementing the meal was a house wine priced at an affordable €8 for 1 litre, offering fantastic quality.

Visited this place twice on our recent visit to Milan, as it was a 2 minute walk from the apartment and after arriving late into the evening, noticed that they were still open for a couple of hours and I am very glad we did. It's a small local pizzeria and gave you that warm italian welcome, although the staff didn't speak great English, they took time to make sure they understood what you wanted and the food then spoke for it self and the price was very good. The 2nd time we went it was a Saturday night and the place was full with locals and I can see why. The food was very tasty. We had pizzas, risotto and pasta. The prices are quite reasonable as compared to other restaurants in the neighbourhood. The look and feel of the place made us think that it is a place for locals and not tourists so we liked it. We visited them twice during our stay in Milan and saw the same guests, so it is is a place worth coming back.
