My wife and I were staying nearby for a few days. We had been walking all day and wanted to try something nearby. We were exploring the neighborhood and walked by this place. We noticed that there were people eating at the outdoor tables and we took notice of the food they were eating for dinner. We were pretty impressed with what we saw so we decided to try it out. We don’t speak any italian but the menu had English written below each choice so it was easy to decipher. Our waiter did not speak any english but he was very friendly and did his best to help us out. We ordered the t-bone ribeye for two and a bottle of red wine. The food and wine were amazing. We ended up getting dessert as well which was also amazing. If we were to stay longer we would love to come back.

What a disappointing experience! From a cold greeting of "yes?" to basic service, it's not a place I care to visit again or recommend. The ribeye I got tasted good but there was nothing special about it. The service was professional but far from friendly. If it were, I would have at least ordered dessert. It felt like they couldn't really be bothered. I didn't even get a basket of bread that other tables got and that I've gotten in every other restaurant in Milano. I still was charged 4€ for coperti. There are many better options in Milano for good steak that have much friendlier service and offer more with the meal. I went to 2 of them last weekend even (one in Porta Romana and the other in Isola), and they were much better in value and experience.

It was a symphony of tastes like you don't meet every day, with a conductor (chef) who looks like Jason Statham and who took care of customers like the Maestro of his orchestra. The entrees were exceptional, the meat melts on the way to the mouth salivating at the sight of it...the red wine from Montepulciano was wonderful...Unfortunately we cannot rate above 10 because we cannot rate the experience of this wonderful evening spent with friends at Pietre Cavate.
