Avoid if you don't want to lose respect for Italians and their food.

Food was atrocious. One of the worst meals I've ever had the displeasure of eating in Italy given how much they're charging. Shame on this restaurant. I've had better Italian food for much cheaper in Asia, cooked by Asians.

The sparkling water that they serve is not bottled mineral water. It's served in a glass jug and is probably carbonated by the restaurant themselves (costs €1.50/bottle). The bread they served was stale. The crust was so hard to the point it was close to inedible. No olive oil provided.

I ordered the Straccetti con Rughetta. Strips of thin beef on arugula, stir-fried. A simple dish that takes 5 minutes to prepare. Overcooked and rubbery for €17. My companions had other dishes including the cod fish, pasta carbonara, squid and chicken. All terrible for the price, with the exception of possibly the pasta given the serving size. Cod fish, overcooked; squid, rubbery; pasta, no bite (keep in mind they do not serve fresh pasta); chicken, dry. The only acceptable food was the charcuterie and wine, but it speaks levels when a restaurant's best dish is something that only requires plating and serving.

Not to mention that when we asked to pay separately, we were each charged a €2 service charge (we were a party of 6), regardless of what we ordered.

Subjectively, you could say that my expectations were too high. But unless you're rich and are so disconnected from reality that you do not care about the price of food or simply cannot appreciate good food, if you pay €20 for a meal, I'm sure you would expect better quality food and no additional service charge for the price you paid.

I never expected to be this offended by a meal in Italy. I have always held a lot of respect for Italians and the standard that they hold their food to, but I have definitely lost some of it after eating here and knowing that this restaurant had Italian people eating in it. The only good things I can say about this restaurant are that the service is passable (not worth €2), their serving sizes are above average for certain dishes, and that they provide a decent environment for your meal.

I have never left a one star review. This is the first. We will not be...

I usually don't write reviews but this is worth mentioning. We had a booking for 10 ppl for a friends birthday. Before arriving I called to ask if we can bring a cake to which the man told me certainly not and that no booking existed under our name before replying to me mid question with "perfetto" and hung up.. The friend then calls, worried, is told they made a mistake and put the booking in for the following week. Because its a birthday he says they will take us and provide 2 bottles of free prosecco. We arrive, and I get abused once again for bringing the cake even though its wrapped in foil in pieces in a bag to give out to everyone at the end- we had no intention of eating it there after being told not to.. We then wait 1hr for them to take our order, no prosecco in sight.. After asking for the prosecco and if we can order we are finally served at 10.30pm. Our waiter then feels bad as our other friend not knowing bought a cake and insists we eat at least one of the cakes "veloce".. We get the bill and after asking to pay the total with one credit card, they become annoyed as they want CASH. typical.. so i would like to say thanks for making my friends birthday a huge...

Very large room divided into various areas, on the style of the old trattorias of Rome. Roman cuisine and quite abundant dishes. We chose as a first course the classic pasta (spaghetti with cheese and pepper) and a typical second Roman dish: tailed to the vaccinara (the oxtail cooked with vegetables) ... fantastic! All washed down with house wine (nothing special ... it was better if we had chosen among the bottles). Prices ok for the dishes offered. I had already been in this restaurant and I decided to give only 3 out of 5 because the kitchen has deteriorated slightly ... in particular because the pasta was very greasy and the house wine was not pleasant, but otherwise everything was ok.

It is a very lovely Romana Osteria in Milan. The atmosphere is really cool. We organized a birthday dinner with my friends at this place. From the reservation phase to the end, the staff was so kind, understanding and friendly. The food was great. We started with the appetizers, it is called “antipasto” in Italian. We tried both first and second dishes. We loved all of the plates that we ordered. The ingredients were so fresh and tasty. We had prosecco and wine, both were good. I especially recommend supplì and carciofi as the starter. All type of the spaghetti plates were great. I loved also meat varieties. I would like to go again to get some really tasty Italian dishes.

Looks can be deceiving. In the case of this restaurant, the promising sizes and sights of the dishes provide a, I’ll clarify since I opened for dramatic effect, somewhat, deceiving dinner. When we entered the establishment, we we’re curiously led to a different building into a different dining room, an experience shared by other patrons throughout the night. While we had great company, my friends and I enjoyed our time together, the food was par, neither great nor poor. Additionally, the service was mediocre. An added warning, they do charge for EACH bottle of water and a cover charge (which is normal but as tourists we weren’t aware of these practices).
