Summary: Unreceptive manager, quite delusional and made racist comments. Incomplete service, yet charging €3 per head Disappointing overall experience, not worth the money.
Comment on experience :
The menu offered many choices and gave us high expectations of the food. We went in and ordered the Spinach ricotta ravioli, Milanese Risotto and Sliced steak Fassona.
The food came at a reasonable speed and we were happy with our first courses, but during the meal we had to ask for bread, and the steak arrived really early, before we even started to have our first courses.
The first courses were slightly above average with good flavour and portion, but the sliced steak Fassona was sat here for so long that it went cold.
So we flagged the waiter and asked for this to be "heated" (whereas steaks should never be heated as it is common sense where you heat steak you would overcook it), which actually meant re-fire one. (originally we asked for medium rare)
That same plate came back dry, uncooked and totally disappointing.
We then asked for a new one directly, and the dish came back as medium well, whereas it should have been medium rare...
We were too hungry so we still ate it, but left one slice and asked for the manager.
When informed about the issues, the manager was very defensive and did not take customer input in a serious manner, she reiterated multiple times that we didn't ask for courses to be separated (as she "assumed" foreigners would have courses at the same time, which came over as a quite racist comment), and said that we didn't ask for a re-fire the first time. (I did try to explain a re-heated steak means a re-fired steak as you can't cook steaks twice but she insisted that it was my fault not to directly ask for one) She also did not appreciate the comment about the need to ask for bread ,whereas in Italy(or italian restaurants), bread should be served directly to the table right from the start.
Overall, the problem was mostly not the food, the service and management...
Read moreRacist. If you are searching for average, overpriced food, decent view of a publicly accessible canal, and an incredibly faithful historical reproduction of racial segregation in the 1940s, this is the place to be. I’ve been here on two separate occasions in short succession, first time with white friends, second time with all Asian faces. The first time wasn’t anything special, but we received standard service. However today all three tables in the direction we were facing that arrived after us received their food before us, and we had to call a waiter each time to remind them that we were still alive and 1) had not received our table settings/ olive oil that every other table had readily prepared 2) where is the vinegar 3) still hadn’t received food 4) ready to pay 5) okay like still ready to pay can you bring the bill 6) you overcharged us 13 euro please correct the error 7) the money is ready come pick it up do you even want to be paid 8) where is our change 9) we’ve been waiting 20min is the change ready yet 10) okay you said you’d be back with change but you haven’t yet. Then we decided we were finally fed up and went in person to find the manager who then with a ridiculously rude attitude told us that the extra was considered tip. To which we were like, okay the mistake is fair perhaps because of cultural differences (in the US tip is left after the bill has been paid and receipt returned) but you really couldn’t have let us know the situation while we asked for the change and waited before we were forced to find you? If you are only comfortable with white customers don’t operate in a tourist...
Read moreI wish there was an option to put rate a restaurant with zero stars. The service at the restaurant was just horrible. We asked if we could be seated for drinks at 15:30. We were denied service for no reason. Apparently we needed to order food to have a few spritzs at the place. The waiter and the waitress were both rude. When we thought there was a mis communication with the waiter outside, my boyfriend went inside to make sure that there was no miscommunication. But the waitress inside said that they couldnt serve us drinks. Mind you there were people sitting outside with just drinks and small coffee cups on their tables. This felt a little discriminatory. The people sitting were caucasian and we are brown. I have lived in Germany for 5 years. When we spoke to people sitting at the tables, the waitress came shooed us away asking us to not disturb their customers. We apologised to the customers in case they were disturbed but they said they were happy to help. This kind of behavior from people working in the service industry is atrocious. I loved every day i spent in Milan. But this discriminatory behavior has over shadowed all the good feelings i had about the city. I would have confronted the waiter/waitress there more about their discriminatory behavior but unfortunately we had a flight to catch in three hours and didnt have time to teach people basic human etiquettes. Denying paying customers during non lunch hours is a very very very bad...
