La Locanda — Restaurant in Milan

My friend and I were walking up the hillside to look at the fantastic views and wandered past this place. She had to use the restroom and as soon as we walked in the owner was extremely kind and welcoming. Neither of us were hungry, and we didn't want to impose, but he owner insisted on letting us sit and take our time. He and the staff were extremely hospitable. They brought us coffee with cream and sugar on the house. We enjoyed some friendly banter and stayed for quite a bit. The view at this restaurant is beautiful and I recommend it highly! They brought me the check before I wanted it and said that the table is booked. In my whole life it was the first time that happened to me. And I believe that it was made to me specifically and intentionally because I am not Italian.

This place directly contradicts with hospitality. People go to restaurants for a good experience and this place has ‘vanished’ my night with this disrespectful attitude in my whole life, the check was never brought to me before I asked it! I never recommend this place to anyone which shows no value to customers!

We went to this restaurant 2 times during our work trip in Milan. We chose because it's just across of our hotel but then we've found that the taste was met our expectations, the portion was fulfill every corner on the stomach. The price is normal for this area.

The waiters were nice, especially the young handsome at the cashier tonight (he could understand English), 7 April 2022. The big build posture Italian waiter was also served us well during our dinner outside seating.

All in all if we go back to Milan again, we'll definitely going back to this...
