Osteria della Pasta e Fagioli — Restaurant in Milan

As an American who has visited Milan occasionally over the years, I can highly recommend this place to you. My wife is a major pasta lover, and the times we've been here, over the years, they have always been totally terrific in terms of quality and value. The pasta is tops, as are the beans. (Don't head here if you're looking more for typical pizzas, lasagnas, etc.); but for hearty meals, starting with a big bowl of pasta & beans, you'll be pleased. Meat courses come second, and I was slightly disappointed that (around 9PM) one of the menu items (Beef Meatballs in sauce) was already gone, but the suggested replacement (Beef Roulade with sauce) was so good we actually ordered a second serving. (Truth be told, my wife is a lighter eater than me, but we did polish off the two orders of the Roulade, along with a small salad). They do have a salad bar, which we've never tried, as the small dinner salad seems sufficient...

I came here for Sunday lunch with Italian friends and we had a wonderful meal. A cosy and friendly restaurant that seems super popular with families and locals - didn't feel touristy at all.

Original and cute menu, delicious Puglian home cooked style pasta / meat / bean dishes! I went for the Timbale (Maccheroni al forno) and it was so tasty. Generous portions and food prepared with a lot of care. Tasty appetisers and rosato wine. Friendly service, even though felt a tiny bit rushed given how busy it was.

All in all, excellent value and a wonderful spot for a down to earth meal near...

Zero rispetto delle norme anti Covid. La prima cosa che colpisce quando si entra nel ristorante è che alcuni camerieri tengono costantemente la mascherina abbassata. Ancora più grave: i ragazzi che stanno dietro al bancone all'ingresso e che preparano i taglieri di salumi e formaggi non hanno proprio la mascherina addosso, e toccano il cibo con le mani. Questi ragazzi servono anche i tavoli fuori e girano per il locale completamente senza mascherina. Ho chiesto io stessa al cameriere che si era avvicinato al nostro tavolo se poteva tenere su la mascherina, l'ha tirata su per un attimo e quando si è allontanato dal mio tavolo l'ha abbassata nuovamente e mai più rimessa. Ho letto la risposta del titolare a una recensione precedente alla mia, non è vero che a volte il personale tiene la mascherina abbassata e che una svista ci può stare. La verità e che alcuni membri dello staff non hanno proprio la mascherina!!!!!! La seconda cosa molto grave è che non ci hanno nè chiesto nè controllato il Green Pass, nonostante noi l'abbiamo esplicitamente chiesto quando ci siamo seduti ed eravamo pronti a mostrarlo. La cameriera ci ha risposto che sarebbe passato il titolare per la verifica, ma chissà come mai non è venuto proprio nessuno a chiedere. Ho notato che il green pass non è stato chiesto neanche ai ragazzi del tavolo a fianco che sono arrivati dopo di noi. Dopo aver letto le recensioni precedenti mi dispiace confermare che il green pass non è stato controllato nè a noi nè ad altre persone. Tutto quello che ho descritto non è stato di sicuro solo una mancanza di attenzione momentanea, è stato sistematico per tutta la durata della cena.
