Ju Xin Lou — Restaurant in Milan

My wife and I had looked forward to eating at this place. But I have to say it was a very big disappointment. My wife is at chef and knows all about Chinese food. We arrived at the restaurant 45 minutes after they opened. The light was still off, and the staff looked like they were surprised (and a little anoied) to see anyone walk in. My wife ordered fried vegetables and spicy tofu, and I ordered fried duck with bamboo shoots. We were warned that the spicy tofu would be very spicy. I don't eat spicy, but my wife does. I tried it, and it was not spicy at all.

In general, I have to say. None of the food was good. It was oily and had no taste. All of it tasted the same, kind of bland.

I don't think the duck was fried. It was more like boiled in advance and heated up in the microwave. And no crunchy skin. After eating the food, both of us had the feeling that our mouth was covered in oil. We have eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants, both in Denmark Thailand and other places. Tutto bene fino a quando abbiamo trovato un CHIODO DI FERRO dentro ad un raviolo. Abbiamo fatto notare la cosa in cassa, e senza pretendere uno sconto, abbiamo chiesto che (per lo meno) la porzione di ravioli con dentro il CHIODO venisse tolta dal conto. Al che, la cameriera più giovane, dopo aver abbozzato scuse inutili sulla colpa del loro fornitore, ha avuto anche il coraggio di rispondere in modo infastidito, dicendoci di averci già scontato i ravioli. Uno sconto di 5 euro su uno scontrino da 130 a noi non fa nessuna differenza, potevano anche tenerseli, ma se qualcuno si fosse fatto male ingoiando un CHIODO proveniente da un loro raviolo non se la sarebbero cavata...
