I wanted to love Bele so much based on the reviews and the pictures I had seen, but I was utterly disappointed. I’ll start with a positive, the atmosphere, and the service, and the wait staff were incredible. They were very polite, welcoming, and very professional. But I was very disappointed in the food. we tried the seven course tasting menu, it was one disappointing dish after another. Anything that was fried tasted like it was fried and oil that was used 100 times. The smoked salmon tasted like cheap, old salmon from the supermarket. The other fish that was part of the tasting menu was also very fishy, I had a bite and couldn’t finish the rest. The risotto and pasta were drowned and saturated in so much butter and cream, the organic taste of the dish was completely obscured. Overall, the quality of the material that was used in every plate was suboptimal and disappointing for a restaurant at this scale. Again, I want to emphasize that the service and atmosphere was amazing, the wine pairing was very good, and so the only thing that was a constant disappointment was a quality of the food. They...
Read moreThis little hidden gem is worth discovering. They asked if we had a reservation when we got there and we didn't but they sat us in the patio anyway. When they saw that it was hot and we were uncomfortable they sat us inside. Our waiter was so incredibly friendly with an effervescent energy. As you enter there is a beautiful almost intimidating ( in the sense that it makes you wonder if the place might be tré fancy) Chandelier and once inside it is small, intimate and just the right touch of cosmopolitan. Everyone's food was delicious and the menu was small but interesting. My friend had the calve's head which when I read that on the menu I almost fainted but it is actually the meat from the cheeks and it looked oh so tender and delicious, he loved it ( small serving though). I had the risotto with mussels I loved the mussels they were so tasty but the risotto was a little hard and I like my risotto much softer. I've eaten risotto in several places in Milan though and I think this is the norm so I can't judge them on that. Overall a...
Read moreOn our second day in Milan, we decided to try this high ranking restaurant at Navigli (canal). Main reason was because of the great reviews we read and some mouthwatering seafood dish photos shared by reviewers. Apparently all the reasons why we took such a long uber ride to get there for weren't in season anymore. Since we both don't eat beef, there's not much options left to offer on the menu. Yet the limited choices turned out to be surprisingly delish! 😍❤️
Here's what we ordered from Belé ❤️
Entree ~ Fried anchovies with gremolada, lemon and saffron gel (my fav) 😋😋😋👍👍👍
First course ~ -Tagliolini walnut sauce escargot ginger😋😋👍 -Spaghettoni "antico pastificio cavalieri fresh tomato sauce and Basil😋😋😋👍
Second course ~ -Lamb ribs borage cream dandelion sage butter 😋😋😋👍👍👍 -Raw Amber jack with sichuan pepper agretti watercress (not a big fan of raw fish but the marinated Amber jack was acceptable for me) 😋😋👍
After a nice fulfilling late lunch, we strolled around Navigli people watching. It was a pleasant...
