The worst experience of my life – avoid at all costs!
Update after owners reply:
First of all, we did not show up unannounced. Earlier in the day, we came by the restaurant and the owner herself told us to come back in 1.5 hours. That’s not “chaotic” – that’s literally what she instructed us to do. If that wasn’t okay, she should have said so then.
Second, it was a very hot day in Milan and we were all very thirsty – especially the children we had with us. We asked for water right away. She said “okay,” but took a very long time to actually bring it. We weren’t told we couldn’t drink from our bottles, but when you’re running a restaurant, it’s basic courtesy to prioritize water when people are clearly dehydrated and waiting with kids.
Third, we politely asked if it was possible to split the bill. That’s a completely normal question, especially with a group. We didn’t demand anything – we simply asked. Most places in Milan handle that easily. Her reaction, again, was unnecessarily cold and annoyed. To make it worse, she kept reminding us over and over that the restaurant was fully booked, like she didn’t want us there in the first place even though she was the one who told us to come back.
Instead of responding professionally to feedback, she replied to our review by attacking us and calling us disrespectful. There was no apology, no self-awareness – just blame and arrogance.
We ate at Shalto Braceria Persiana yesterday, and I still can’t believe the level of disrespect we were shown. From the moment we walked in, the owners’ behavior was downright rude. No welcome, no smile – just arrogance and unnecessary hostility.
The food? An absolute disaster. Bland, poorly presented, and clearly made without any care or attention. We ordered several dishes, and not a single one was even close to acceptable. The meat was tough as shoe leather, the seasoning was completely off, and the service was slow and disorganized.
But the worst part was the attitude of the person who was obviously the owner. Not only did he refuse to apologize for anything, he was rude and aggressive, acting as if we were the problem. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry.
Stay far away from this place. There are plenty of great restaurants in the city – this is absolutely not one of them. An experience I wouldn’t...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We booked two tables through The Fork app — one for me and my parents (my father is in a wheelchair), and one for my sister and her husband. We received confirmation emails for both reservations. However, just as we arrived and parked, we suddenly got emails saying that both reservations had been cancelled. Confused, we still went inside to ask what was going on — especially since the reservation had been confirmed by email. Instead of helping us or offering any kind of apology, the staff member rudely dismissed us and claimed that they “never confirmed” our reservation, which was simply not true. The confirmation was in writing. There was zero accountability, and frankly, a very unpleasant attitude. What made this even worse is that my father is in a wheelchair — making it difficult for us to just leave and find another place at short notice. We made this plan in advance to avoid exactly this kind of hassle, and yet the restaurant handled it with complete disregard and zero professionalism. It’s incredibly upsetting that we were made to go all the way there, only to be turned away due to their mistake. I expected far better treatment from any establishment, especially one that accepts bookings through a major platform like The Fork. I do not recommend this restaurant and I hope management takes a serious look at how their team...
Read moreThe most expensive persian restaurant I have ever been to around the world. I have been to so many persian restaurants all over the world, including Europe, US, Canada and the middle east. All persian dishes usually come with rice and the price is included in one dish. They charged me 7€ for each dish with the rice without mentioning when I ordered. Only Koobideh was coming with rice. Portions are way smaller than the standard, Koobideh is only one skewer and the rice portion is very little. Food quality was ok but served very slow and was cold by the time it arrived at our table. They also charged coperto which is expected in restaurants in Europe, but they charged for the kids too. It was not my first coperto payment, all other restaurants charge for the adults only and not for the kids. Anyways, I ordered 3 dishes for 2 adults 2 kids and I ended up paying 87€. For this price, I can probably get a lot more quality food for...
