We LOVED this place!
This restaurant has been in my list to go for a long time. The time has arrived finally. I loved Mibabbo on several counts, I am going to try to summarize.
The ambiance has a good level of elegancy, it is a chic place compared to the standard trattorias in Italy that I loved this. It could be a good dating place for example or couple dinner place. It was cold outside but they also have place outside, it could be great in the summertime. The design is stylish in general.
The service quality is high. It was not slow, the plates came on time. The waiters are very kind, well informed and are able to talk in English. They are friendly and smiling.
Let’s talk about the FOOD! They bring homemade breads, these are tasty, fresh. We tried the cold cuttings and bruschetta as starters. What to say, good selection of salumi and bruschetta ingredients were tasty. Then we came to the king, the meat! Here the meat is amazing! It is soft, juicy and delicious. I shared also the wine that we tried in the photos, you can try, I recommend it, it was a good match with meat. Last but not least, you should try the desserts, we loved the pastry cream with berries.
It is not a cheap restaurant but it is worth the money paid. I highly recommend Mibabbo. Next time I want to try the pasta.
Thank you for a great...
Read morePlace: decorated in Tuscany style it is very cozy and warm. We were seated in a small second floor that is accessed by a a narrow staircase. There was soft chill music. Service: we were welcomed and asked for our booking, we were late but they did not seem to be mad at us :-). The service was somehow a bit slow but reliable, including wine service
Food We were welcomed with bread. I Missed something to put on it, perhaps some Olive and vinegar? We got Chianti tuna, which is a plate that looks like tuna but Is in reality slow cooked pork. It came with some grilled bread and beans and it was delicious. Testaroli, an ancient Tuscany pasta. It is something between a crepe and pasta we liked it. Pice with pecorino cheese. It is an old pasta like a long thick spaghetti. It was really good. Beef tagliata. The meat was entrecote and it was cooked to the perfect medium point. Suckling slow cooked pig, have tried much better but wasn't bad. Dessert was tiramisu, white chocolate sphere and chocolate dome. The tiramisu was very creamy, the white chocolate sphere also nice with a berries coulis and the chocolate dome with pistachio cream was a bit too bitter to my taste.
Overall we liked the entire experience and we...
Read moreI went with some friends on Friday and the service is just so bad. I do not recommend this place at all. They told us we needed a reservation and because we did not have one, the placed us outside in a hot weather full of mosquitos. After 20 minutes there, some Italian families went in without reservation (they were looking at the menu in a chalk board outside and decided to go in) and the server gave them a table. This place is absolutely racist and overpriced.
After response by owner: That is not what we ordered. We ordered a board of cheese, wine and three main dishes. We did not even try the main dishes because of your awful service.
It was not raining. It was hot, humid and the patio was full of mosquitoes. So if you know a little of restaurant management you will offer the first table that cancels to the people that requested a table inside and are getting bit by mosquitoes.
I am surprised that the manager remembers us because he did not say a thing while we were there. He just accepted the payment for the wine and board of cheese. And, yes we were so decent that we paid for the bad service. First impressions are very important for us and our first impression of your...
