Yesterday , my Israeli friend and I embarked on an exquisite burger journey in the heart of Isola, Milan. Drawn by rave reviews on Google, we ventured into a restaurant named Tripburger, a charming spot filled with an eclectic mix of hipster vibes and warm Italian authenticity.
Upon entering, we were immediately taken by the welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. The service was impeccable, starting with the polite waiters who thoughtfully provided us with English menus, to their attentiveness throughout our meal.
Our selection from the menu, the Angus burger with Camembert, chimichurri, and spinach, was a delightful culinary surprise. Though the burgers were not as meaty or red as typically found in butcher's burger shops, they were skillfully prepared, well-cooked and demonstrated an impressive balance of tastes. The ingredients were clearly chosen with precision, offering a refreshing spin on the classic burger. The buns, in particular, stood out for their freshness and lightness, which complemented the overall flavours quite well.
We paired our meal with a side of fries and two bottles of soft drink. The fries were a perfect sidekick to the main act, maintaining the balance of taste and texture.
However, it was the homemade cheesecake dessert with Nutella and white chocolate topping that truly stole the show. Not overly sweet, this dessert was the perfect grand finale to our meal, offering just the right amount of indulgence.
At the end of our journey, we were satisfied, but not overly full, which could be seen as a drawback for those with heartier appetites.
In terms of value for money, we found it quite reasonable. Our bill for two Angus burgers, two soft drinks, and a cheesecake came to 50 euros - a fair price considering the quality of food and service received.
While Tripburger might not satisfy those seeking a traditional, meaty, butcher-style burger, it definitely offers a unique, refined, and enjoyable twist on the beloved classic. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a stylish, slightly unconventional burger experience in Milan.
A word to the wise: The cheesecake is the perfect desert for this...
Read moreThe main reason I only give 2 stars is the price, it was really expensive. We paid 25eur pr person, the most expensive place we ate in Italy and the burger was not worth that much. You couldn’t buy a menu with fries so you had to buy fries separately. The fries were really good though and you got a lot of different dips, but you could probably just buy 1 to share instead of 2 if you're 2 people.
We chose this place as it has halal options but were a little dissapointed when we saw only 3 of the things on the menu were halal. It was an american style hamburger and 2 different chicken burgers. We chose the american one and the patty was pretty dissapointing, it was like the patties you can buy frozen. Didn't taste like much. What saved it was definitely the bread, the bread was really good. If you go here, definitely get the chicken instead.
I also just saw another review saying that you can ask for a halal menu and they had more options on there it seemed like but I had no idea you could ask for that. You have to scan a QR code for their menu and in there you can see a few things marked as halal, therefore I assumed that was all the halal options. A bit weird if they have a separate halal menu and there are some things on there which are not in their usual menu cuz how would we know that? I also do wear hijab and we both ordered halal things so if they had another menu, why wouldn’t they give it to us when they saw that?
Overall it was alright, if you can eat non-halal food I think it would be great as they have a lot of unique options but for halal food it...
Read moreWe wanted a burger and found this small place. What a great little place!! A large selection of meats, that makes a large selection of burgers, which all sound interesting and unique. Friendly staff, and our waitress spoke perfect English. For starters we decided to get something that sounds simple but interesting and we got the deep fried guacamole. It was exactly that, and it was delicious!! The crispy coating was crunchy and reminded us the outside texture of a good falafel. The inside was a perfectly made guacamole, a little lemony, which was perfect. Such a great stater dish. I wanted to try the camel but they ran out so we got the ostrich and the wagyu instead. The wagyu was great. Good quality meat and cooked how it should. It came with an asparagus and basil cream which added a freshy note to the flavors. The ostrich was amazing! It's has been a while since I had ostrich meat, and this burger reminded me that I love it. It feels and tastes more meaty than any other beef. Really deep meat flavor. It comes with cheese, sprouts, and a really good peach chutney that gives the burger a nice sweet kick. We got fries for both dishes and they were spectacular. It's been a long time since a restaurant gave me perfect matchstick fries, that were crunchy and delicious. Definitely get them as a side dish. If you're looking for a burger and don't want a fast food joint, this is definitely the place. I'll be back because I have to try the...
