If you’re staying in Minori, you’ve chosen a quieter coast town than Positano or Amafi for a reason - this restaurant has everything you’d want from your stay here. We had dinner on our first evening and right away they warned us that a large group of kids celebrating a birthday had come in and the meal would take a bit longer than usual. It’s a vacation, so we were in no hurry and didn’t mind starting with a drink, but the communication was important and most importantly, friendly to invite us to stay anyway. We watched three people navigate all tables at the restaurant, more tables across the way in the little garden area, and all those kids - including setting up a birthday cake table in the square - all the while smiling and joking throughout. The host and hostess became our “best friends” after a few days, and it became a nice treat to wave to familiar faces as we went up and down through town each day. We came for dinner a second time as well with a similarly wonderful experience.
More than anything else, the food is really really delicious, fresh, and clearly they pay attention to the ingredients and preparation you’d want to see from a local authentic establishment. Tourists are treated well and the prices are very reasonable. We had their house “Hostaria” pizza which was comparable to the quality of Naples, baby octopus, risotto with prawns, and spaghetti dishes. All exceptional, the sauces are so so good.
Go and see them, try a little Italian as they try out their English with you, and get to know some really decent people in a beautiful town! Leave a little tip too, they deserve it!
We’ll be back again without a doubt.
Thank you, best friends! Shawn and...
Read moreThis summer, my partner and I were fortunate to spend three weeks in Italy. For our first time in Campania, we elected to stay in a fabulous Airbnb in Marmorata, a tiny comune near to Minori on the Costiera.
Walking anywhere in the Amalfi Coast is a daredevil’s dream: you are literally stepping directly alongside traffic on the precipitous, narrow motorway. For us, the closest town centre was Minori: even to get milk or sugar compelled us to take the tightrope-style walk downwards into town.
We were richly rewarded by stumbling into Hostaria del Corso, which gave us some of the finest seafood dishes we’d ever had in the country, so far. The staff are professional, competent and knowledgable, willingly giving nightly specials and recommendations. Their risotto ai frutta di mare, their marinated mussels, all the way to their breads and wines were of superior quality. What’s more, they are a true local’s haunt, without fuss or fanfare, which made coming there so pleasurable for us.
I would not hesitate to send any traveller to this fabulous little place. And to implore them to be thankful that such independent, locally-run eateries still prevail.

Read moreI had an absolutely outstanding meal tonight at Hostaria del Corso. We were planning on going to a different restaurant but found it to be closed and decided to take a chance on this spot. So glad we did! We shared the muscle and clam sauté appetizer which was fresh and delicious. Perfectly cooked. Then I had the catch of the day which was Seabass. It was absolutely fabulous. Perfectly cooked and had a very slight sprinkling of some wonderful herbs. It was obviously incredibly fresh. We've been in Italy For a little over two weeks now and had some great meals but I must say, this was the best food. The freshest food. The most perfectly cooked and best prepared. Topped it off with the lemon cake for dessert which was tasty and light. Thank you Chef! Fantastico!!! And the service was outstanding as well. Highly...
