Intrigued by the overall positive reviews (even though maybe a little biased by the negative ones) we went to visit La Botte on our short stay in Minori. We were seated outdoors almost immediately although the waiter was a little hesitant at first (leaving a somewhat strange impression). Water and menues came fast too; the pizza and pasta were brought about 15 minutes later (though not at the same time). The “frutti di mare” pasta was fine but nothing special (according to my partner) and my Margherita wasn’t exactly the best - both overcharged at 15.50€ and 6.50€, respectively. When it came to paying, we got the impression that the waiter had forgotten about it and would only bring the bill after 10 minutes of waiting. The fact that about 6 people in pairs of two had to wait at least 15 minutes to be seated, even though there were clearly some open tables (without any reservation signs) struck us as...
Read moreWhen we entered , we were given bread but no oil or vinegar like other tables around us. We ordered 2 T bone steaks and asked for them to be cooked medium. The server asked us if we wanted sides , so we ordered chips. Then the steaks came they did not look like T bones usually do with a bone and meat on both sides and were RAW. Mine was still red on the edges and both cold in the middle. They both came with chips and then a portion came on the side too,no one advised us of this. My partners steak was much thicker than mine and he sent his back to be cooked further and it was still very rare. No steak knives given either,we had to ask. We have eaten steaks in many different countries and had a beautiful steak in another restaurant 2 nights before. We can enjoy rare steak, but it was raw. Very poor service and the meal was just so...
Read moreWe went here twice during our 4 day stay in Minori, once for lunch and once for dinner. The special local pasta that resembles a gnocchi (both variations) was delicious. Bolognese is great. Pizzas are also good. If you are a group of more than 2, the sautéed seafood appetizer of clams and mussels is enormous and delightful (we were a group of 2 and found it way too big for our group size). Overall, it is a great local spot in Minori with large portion sizes and reasonable prices compared to the alternatives. Don’t expect the server to check in on you after you order your food as it is a single server for the entire indoor/outdoor restaurant. This is normal for Italy, but it is good to be aware of so you don’t have unreasonable expectations of them. Great experience and would go again if...
