Benny's Bar • Spirits&Kitchen • — Restaurant in Modena

We had a lot of spritzes of various kinds throughout our visit in Italy. The experience of having one at Benny's, which happened to be our first Apérol Spritz on this trip, was our favorite.

We needed a place to hang out before a nearby dinner reservation and happened by Benny's wide open space with plenty of seating outside the restaurant and decided to give it a try.

We loved our Apérol Spritzes (especially the barber pole straws). I guess since it was our first, naturally we compared this experience to the subsequent ones we had...but this one really was good...well mixed, generously sized and really good.

Most sprites come with some kind of accompaniments during apéritivo hour, and again, Benny's topped them all with presentation and what was offered...olives...those famous little round "spritz cracker cookies" (that can't possibly be what they're really called...) peanuts and chips. We had to be careful not to fill up before dinner!

They have other creative looking drinks that we'd love to try sometime if we're ever back in Modena.

Ma. Troppo Borgese. I miss Art Cafè. This used to be a workers bar. I guess Benny was born in 1966, but the place screams hipsters paradise. There's always some health bearded weirdo lurking around. Price for drinks was not comenserate...

Ci siamo fermate in questo posto per un pranzo veloce ma lo sconsiglio vivamente. Cameriere molto scortesi e sbrigative, ci hanno detto di scegliere tra i piatti del giorno riportati su una lavagnetta ma senza i prezzi, li abbiamo chiesti e ci è stato detto che tutti i primi piatti erano a 8€. Una volta in cassa i tortellini che avevo ordinato risultano a 12€, ho chiesto il perché e mi è stato risposto che dipende dai piatti e che i prezzi non sono tutti uguali... veramente pessime! Non ho fatto storie perché volevo passare un bel weekend, ma la recensione negativa non ve la toglie nessuno. Complimenti per la gentilezza e la trasparenza......
