I made a reservation online and when I got to the place they said I could choose where to sit. After I picked a table they said it was reserved already! What??? Ok, went to another table in the back room with also the view which is nice. Then they gave us a piece of paper with the wifi and the menu QR code. Really frustrating. When you go to a restaurant they should try to make you away from your phone and not the opposite. Anyway, they brought bread to the table and I asked for some olive oil and salt, which they refused to bring! Seriously, every single place in Tuscany produces olive oil. In my hotel even shampoo and soap were infused with their own produced olive oil. The waitress told me that she would only bring the olive oil when the starter was ready (why????). Not to my surprise, it never came. The food I cannot say is bad, but faaaar from being all this hype from other reviews. The chef tries too hard to impress the tourists. In the pasta there was a long hair (or maybe a synthetic piece of cloth, I don't know). I showed it to the waitress, who said something like "this is impossible". Anyway, at least the dish was not charged, but as a restaurant they should know better how to deal with these situations. Errors and issues can happen and it would be a perfect situation for them to offer a glass of wine, another dish or even explain what might have happened. But no, I was there with my wine finished and nobody asked if I wanted more. The restaurant was not even 50% full. When I was leaving the place, the lady that seemed to be the owner was talking to the waiters about me! As a Brazilian with Italians in the family I can understand the language and thought it was the most disrespectful thing. Now that I read other reviews and saw that other people had the exact same treatment I must say that I am being too nice to give...
Read moreOne to skip; the worst restaurant we visited in tuscany. Do not know how it made it onto the michelin guide. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to a poor experience. We prebooked, and were asked where we wanted to sit. When we suggested the first several tables, we were told these were “reserved” - even though we’d made a reservation. You’re then told they have no menus, only a QR code. You’re in a location with only 1 bar of signal and their wifi is faulty (see screenshot. Edit: removed as google does not permit screenshots). Trying to load the menu was a welcome distraction, as it took them over 30 minutes to even take a drinks order and this was only after we flagged them down. It was c. 1 hour by the time we got starters, in a 2/3 full restaurant so it’s not like they were rushed. The food was mixed; a couple of nice dishes such as ravioli but others totally unremarkable: one starter is literally shredded carrots with vinaigrette (and some decoration). Another starter is like a cheese toastie with sliced tomato on top. The pappardelle sauce tasted exactly like €1 kraft macaroni cheese sauce. Other tables had old wine glasses left, despite nearly finishing their second, etc etc. Our waiter, the small man, was very unwelcoming to the point of being unprofessional. One of our napkins was dirty. Small points but not at all what you’d expect from somewhere on the michelin guide, especially with such intense competition within walking distance. Also note that whilst the terrace is nice, the restaurant is not west facing: so you will see sunset colours, as with anywhere, but...
Read moreUnacceptable staff behavior, danger to life, and below-average food! As an influencer with a large audience, I chose this institution in order to tell stories about it, but now, unfortunately, I just want to warn people against visiting. First, my boyfriend was served a glass of wine with a piece of glass floating in it! We noticed this and asked for a replacement. But the idea that he could have drunk it still haunts us! After this we was were very disappointed the dishes, the tuna tartar tasted like carrots and nothing more, and I had to spit out the peach soaked in something because it was disgusting!
In the end, we wanted to order dessert, but after waiting a very long time, we decided that we would not order it. When a woman came up with a question about dessert, I said, "we've been waiting a very long time, no need, thank you," to which she began to resent, "have you been waiting a long time?! really?!" she turned her back on me and didn’t stopped repeating it loudly as she passed all the tables and I also heard her getting talking about it inside the restaurant. It was very unpleasant and unacceptable. Later I found out that it was the owner of the restaurant , which in my opinion is just a shame.
This is not the level of just good ( or of course not! Michelin-starred) restaurant, both in terms of food and service, not to mention the fact that you can just eat a piece of glass!
I do not recommend anyone to come to this place and even more so to make any plans for a special evening...
