Al Vero Merluzzo antica baccaleria napoletana dal 1927 — Restaurant in Naples

My wife and I and 2 friends visited this place for dinner. We were completed delighted with the experience. We ordered the grilled seafood tray, pasta with mullet roe, octopus salad, smoked salmon salad, beer and white wine. The cod fish in the seafood tray was fresh and grilled just right. The giant shrimps were delicious; and the smoked salmon was the best I ever tasted. Being someone who is accustomed to the fresh seafoods in Hong Kong and Taiwan, I don’t give compliments to seafoods easily. The seafoods at this restaurant are definitely fresh and properly cooked by my standards! The shop owner Patrick and the chef Angelo stopped by our table to make friendly conversations and to take a few photos with us. The cost came out to 78 euro for 4 of us. We went here because we were craving an authentic Neapolitan seafood experience, and we both had the best fish of our lives (and both of us have eaten a lot of fish).

You can tell that a great deal of care is taken, from the quality of the cut of fish to the preparation.

The seating is outdoors under an awning, and it has such a lovely atmosphere.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and answered any of our questions and were very patient with our limited Italian (and their English was good too).

This evening my partner and I went to visit fish shop/restaurant, because we read great reviews and saw beautiful photos of dishes. They didn’t disappoint ! When you walk into the fish shop it’s kind of confusing if we were in the right place and if we could eat here. However, the two gentlemen that met us were lovely and very helpful. I wanted the pasta with octopus but it was 19:30 and they didn’t have it at the end of the day, so come for lunch! Helped us pick our dishes, food was ready in 10-15 minutes.
