Although the 2 staff members we dealt with were polite, the service itself was poor. This place looked lovely as it was around the corner from our accommodation so on our 2nd evening we decided to visit. Arrived approx 7.30pm. We were seated and hoped to eat there but there was no sign of food being served so assumed it was just a drinks bar. I ordered a bottle of Corona but the girl returned to say the Corona wasn't cold yet. The other beers/lagers weren't that appealing but decided to try a "rose beer" (€7 ) while the Corona cooled. Whilst having our first drink we noticed ppl being served food around us and also realised the candles on everyone else's tables were lit except ours. I had noticed the candles while walking past the previous evening making the place look really pretty and welcoming so this struck me, as well as the fact we were not offered a food menu. After finishing first drinks nobody came near us for 15mins. We were going to use this opportunity to ask about food but when the gentleman came nearby we asked to order more drinks. I asked again for a Corona but was told that there was none; a different story to what the waitress told me earlier. I ordered a small draft to avoid the awkwardness and as we were about to ask about food the waiter left quite quickly. Another while went by when we realised they were taking down boards and signs (in Italian) so we actively went inside to ask about food. We were given a menu (in Italian) at 8:50 and Google told us the place closed at 9pm so we assumed that was the kitchen as almost straight away the waitress came to take our food order. We asked for 5 mins please (to translate as best we could) and under pressure I ordered the club Sandwich. When it came it was much larger than expected,it was giant bread slices cut in two, was hard to manage and contained fried egg (FYI I didn't get that far while trying to translate via Google, in a hurry).I managed half the sandwich but it was really hard to manage and I was quite deflated after the slow service, the Corona issue and generally felt like we were not regarded as "proper customers". This place gets great reviews but I would absolutely not return as what should have and could have easily been a very pleasant evening was actually a very negative experience personally when all I wanted was a beer and a bit of food close to home. We just didn't feel very...
Read moreFriday night. A bit busy but not so. We ate here and had cocktails. Then.. I looked for a place to eat.. again. Insalata caprese : 1/2 tomato, 5 cherry tomatoes, 3 bits of processed mozzarella, 10g of rucola = 10€. How is that ok ? Ravioli in ragu : 5 raviolis = 12€. I forgot the sauce. Good sauce. Luckily there was bread to soak it in. Cocktails.. just ok. +: in a quiet little piazza. Charming. Service? At first we were transparent. Then nice. A server being extra nice. We knew it was a place for drinks. But this little place was charming. We decided last minute to stay and eat. Just don’t. Or stay and complete your meal with the...
Read moreA great bar located in a quiet side street. The music was well chosen and not too loud, the atmosphere of the bar is pretty chill and the decor is nice.
We had the pistachio sandwich and the tiramisu espresso, both were tasty and the portions were big, especially for the sandwich. The prices were also well adjusted for the quality and quantity.
The limoncello spritz was amazing, and last but not least, the service was impeccable. Giovanni and Gennaro were super nice and made us feel very welcome.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, so you'll have to take my word for how tasty everything was :D
Well...
