Casa del Caffè — Restaurant in Naples

The place was chosen based on reviews on TripAdvisor and Google Maps. To be honest, we don't know why it has a high rating. Let's start with the first incident: we ordered cappuccinos, but the cups were dirty. There was leftover coffee from previous customers on the spoons. We ordered fried calamari but were served a salad with expired calamari which had absolutely disgusting smell. We also ordered a seafood mix, but it tasted like week-old spoiled fish. Following the waiter's suggestion, we ordered fried potatoes, which turned out to be sour. When we refused the spoiled food, the waiter accidentally spilled another dish on our bag. The first waiter brought coffee while eating a cutlet with one hand. He also wiped another table with his own sleeve and coming to our table, dropped the napkins on it. Absolutely unsanitary conditions. In the end, we didn't eat anything, couldn't finish the coffee, tried to refuse payment, but the waiter insisted that everything was fresh. As a result, we didn't have a meal, our mood was ruined, and we after denying several dishes, we still were asked to pay 20 euros. Highly NOT...

Awful experience at this restaurant. By far the worst on our 10 day trip around Sicily and Naples and the most cheated I have ever felt as a customer of a restaurant. We asked for the rigatoni al ragu at 4€ and we were given tortellini with tomato sauce (as this was one of the pre-prepared “specials” left over from the course of the day). We were then charged €6 for a dish that we didn’t order. It was no better than a supermarket microwave meal. We were rushed to order and leave the restaurant at only 9.50 in the evening (having turned up at about 9.15). Please do not seat guests in your restaurant if you plan on kicking them out 35...

My husband and I got the vegetable mix M (medium) which comes with 3 veggie choices. The friarelli and the bell peppers were my favorites! So yummy and flavorful! The eggplant parmesan was good but it was the last of the three that I tried so was overshadowed by the other two's yumminess. For the first course, my husband got the sausage and friarelli pasta while I got the pasta with Genovese onion. Both were good but the Genovese was hands down my favorite dish in Italy so far.
