Unfortunately I feel the need to drop my rating of this place. I've been 4 times now, and after the first I immediately slapped a well deserved 5 stars on my review without blinking. Stunning place and unique layout, great pizza, decent staff. The last couple times, however, I have been disappointed. Although the pizza is always nice (hence the 2 stars), the staff really don't care anymore. There's this very lousy and non-caring attitude around the place. The waiter literally threw the menu on my table, as if i was some sort of inferior being. I thought it would get better, but no, the last time I went, it felt as if the staff totally knew they don't even need to be decent anymore cos they're famous enough, like we don't care how we treat you, we've got all these awards slapped up on our window. we shouldn't be thanking you for your business, you should be thanking us for being so amazing. Get off your high horses guys, you are in the middle of Naples, there's pizzeria every 200 metres, and every other one does great pizza. You're not in Siberia, the only pizzeria around. And even if you were, that wouldn't give you the right to think you're superior beings. Just common decency and kindness, maybe a smile if that is too much to ask. And definitely don't go throwing your menus...
Read moreOne of the best places to have a fried pizza. This place is really good on a lot of levels. Firstly, it's not far from the metro station, 10 mins of walk at most, if it's the weekend with crowded streets. Next to a small piazza, where you can also bring your boxed pizza and eat outside the restaurant. But you'd miss the interiors and the decor if you didn't dine-in. The seating is a large medieval cavern with stone pillars and fits all group sizes. The staff is really busy even on weekdays and you might have to wait a while to get your table. The food is the real pièce de résistance. The simple fried pizza with ricotta, mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and basil was sinful. I must warn the patrons that one fried pizza is usually enough for two people but sharing a pizza is frowned upon. Hence, we also ordered Crocche or breaded deep-fried mashed potatoes balls mixed with ham, chilli and cheese. These are a handful and big enough to become an evening snack by itself. Their prices are very modest and don't even feel like a dinner price. The staff might be pressed hard to serve all but they are super friendly and give good suggestions. Overall, a must visit and definitely a treat for sore eyes and...
Read moreWe had a great experience here. Big dining area with great air conditioning. Restaurant is on a quiet, pretty street. Seated quickly, excellent friendly service. We ordered 3 potato crocche, 2 plain (cheese inside) and one friarelli- absolutely delicious! They were light and creamy with a crispy exterior. definitely recommend these! Half bottle of red house wine was good. 4 pizzas. Excellent crust, very fresh tomato sauce, the right amount of mozzarella di bufala. Overall, very very good. This was the sauciest pizza we had in our 5 days in Napoli, and love sauce..but felt it would have been more balanced with a bit less sauce. One of our pizzas was a Vesuvio - no sauce, but cut up baby Vesuvius tomatoes on top- and this one was fantastic. The tomatoes were bursting with fresh flavor. We definitely recommend this pizzeria. With all the pizzerias in Napoli, this one is good enough to go back to, especially for...
