This Italian eatery, which started as a humble worker's restaurant, has now become a local institution. The menu changes daily, adding an element of surprise and variety to each visit. To stay updated on the day's offerings, follow their Facebook page where they post the menu around 11 AM every day. The restaurant is open exclusively for lunch, making it a perfect midday dining spot.

The dishes served are exceptional, consistently delivering high-quality, flavorful meals that showcase the best of Italian cuisine. The prices are incredibly attractive, not just for the food but also for the wine, making it a fantastic value for money.

One thing to keep in mind is the high demand. Due to its popularity, you might find yourself sharing a table with other diners. This communal dining experience can be quite charming and adds to the restaurant's vibrant and friendly atmosphere.

Overall, this Italian restaurant is a special experience for lunch. With its excellent dishes, affordable prices, and the unique daily menu, it offers a dining experience that's both delightful and...

I am stuffed to bursting!

This place was a total diamond. I was the only non local in there, and it was €12 for primi, secundi and contorni (in my case gnocchi alla Sorrentina, baked provola - the only vegetarian second courses were that or baked scarmoza - and parmigiana de melanzane. Which is one of my favourite things!) The prices also includes bread.

€14 (£11.57) including a Peroni. Incredible value.

Busy, buzzy, fast paced but efficiently friendly. Get seated on a table with other people, your food comes pretty much all at once and very swiftly, stuff it all in your face as quickly as you are able, pay and leave. A moment to digest will have to be done outside!

The zucchini contorno looked delicious, so I'm going to have to come back another day to try that too (well, and just hope that it is serving, because the menu changes daily).

Want to see what you would have chosen? Head to Mangi & Bevi's Facebook page to see the day's menu. Tonnes of choice, and even more so if you are an omnivore (but vegetarians will still be very...

Local, good-value, high-turnover restaurants focused on home-style cooking are found in many cities. Of all the ones I remember visiting (in Britain, France, and Italy) this is easily the best: for its menus, its quality, its ambience, its feeling of being part of the area. The staff are rushed off their feet but still show humanity. You have to write your own order on a piece of card with a pen. Why not? It added to the restaurant’s individual feel. Even better: the bread, the local (red) wine, and the mineral water were exceptionally good for the price point. It was a great touch; one which lets down so many other places. You share a table if necessary. We had a cousin of the team sit down for a quick meal and a chat. The restaurant had a really great atmosphere. We had pasta alla zucca e salsiccia, alici, tagliata, seppie con piselli, melanzane alla parmigiana, peperoni e patate. All good to great, and dishes that could easily put more expensive...

We found this place for lunch after our long walk close to the harbor. What a pleasant surprise it was. This was an authentic Napoli experience for us. They didn't speak English and the menu was all in Italian. But, I must say I had the best chicken I've ever had here. Chicken was so tasty I had to order another one. We also got some pasta and fried fish. They were good too but the chicken was just outstanding. With all the dishes we ordered plus sparkly water and wine we ended up paying 17 Euros. To the point that we thought they made a mistake and asked to consider the second chicken we ordered. But, No it was included and all together it was 17 Euros for the meal for 2 people. It was just the cherry on top to give this place an easy 5 star for food and the prices.

If you want a no frills, authentic, local hole in the wall lunch, look no further. This place was incredible with a small daily menu of regional dishes. It’s incredibly cheap as you can get a starter primi and secondi all for €12. The people working there are very cool and the food is soo delicious - grandma style cooking. We got the polpetta, the lamb with peas, gnocchi sorrentina, grilled vegetables, and a half litre of the house red. The lamb was top, and everything else was delicious too. Couldn’t recommend enough (but don’t expect fine dining or “western” service - that’s the beauty of it!)
