Pizzeria Augusteo — Restaurant in Naples

Been traveling the south of Italy the past 10 days, pizza always a priority when planing meals. Always researching the highest rated pizza joints around making sure they also have plenty of reviews. I've had excellent pizza around the place, but this was on another level. Don't think twice, you won't be disappointed. I had the parmigiana pizza and opted for stuffed crust (ricotta). There were elderly locals in eating which is another good indicator that this is one of the best around. Its also cheap and cheerful. And the staff are really nice and friendly, big smiles and look like they enjoy being there, which isn't the case in 80% of restaurants in...

Surprised that this place has this much reviews. Very dirty, staff unpleasant and unwelcoming. It was a very hot day and we went not knowing that they don't have an inside area. So we sat outside and meanwhile my husband went to the bathroom, when he came back he told me that inside is very dirty and the kitchen is nasty. So we changed our minds and decided to leave. The waiter then got super angry and took the menu from us in a very rude way and said "tell me you need to go to the bathroom and not eat from the beginning". Pizzeria Augusteo absolutely nailed it on the food. The bruschetta was life-changing — crunchy, garlicky perfection that deserves its own fan club. And the pizza? Unreal. Five-star, wood-fired greatness that reminds you why Naples is the birthplace of the stuff.

Then came the check. Let’s just say Naples has a reputation for pickpockets, but I wasn’t expecting to get mugged by math. They overcharged, which definitely took some of the shine off an otherwise perfect meal.
