Rescigno Cucina Partenopea — Restaurant in Naples

TOURISTS BEWARE: dishonest service and scam tactics. Last night I had dinner with my family and we were completely scammed by the waiter. He offered us a “special dish” that “wasn’t on the menu”, saying it was to be shared and giving us a price. I even asked twice to make sure we understood correctly. When the bill arrived, the price was almost double. Suddenly, the “rules had changed”: apparently the dish was priced by weight, something nobody ever told us when ordering🥲🥲🥲

The waiter, who had been very friendly while taking our order, suddenly didn’t understand us anymore. The manager refused to take any responsibility and acted like she didn’t know what was going on.

We ended up paying much more than agreed and felt totally disrespected and deceived. As tourists, we felt helpless. If you’re not a local, avoid this place at all costs. They play tricks on visitors and take advantage of your trust. This is not how hospitality should work!!!!!

Oh, and by the way, the dish wasn’t even good enough...

Da residente a Via Foria, sono grata che ci siano nella mia zona -cuore pulsante napoletano- ristoratori che hanno ancora così tanta cura ai dettagli senza trascurare "a' cucina 'bbona". Il locale arredato finemente e con gusto nei minimi particolari, sedie comode, ampi spazi e ampia cucina a vista. Accoglienza dal personale eccellente, dalla proprietaria, ai due camerieri molto garbati. Gli chef ci hanno fatto vivere una piacevole esperienza culinaria, dando classe a piatti goduriosi della cucina nostrana. Entré di benvenuto molto gradito, generosità nelle porzioni e condimenti molto equilibrati. Apprezzata la misticanza con condimento a parte -non è scontato, e quando l'insalata è buona è bello dosare quanto olio si desidera-. Nota di merito per il baccalà alla piastra, pareva una bistecca, anzi, lo era a tutti gli effetti. Gradita la salicornia nel menù e molto buoni anche gli spaghetti alla nerano, piatto ormai presente in ogni trattoria/ristorante ma che purtroppo pochi riescono a cucinare bene e con un impiattamento tale. Grazie famiglia Rescigno, avete dato ancora più orgoglio al vostro nome. I vostri prodotti da forno erano/sono già una coccola per il palato, questo ristorante è stato un regalo per chi come me vive il quartiere ma abituata a fare km per andare a mangiare bene ed in un luogo così quieto. La mia famiglia ed io vi auguriamo tanta...

Dishonest staff and terrible service. We were offered a “special dish” not listed on the menu, and the waiter clearly told us it would cost €20 per person—we confirmed this multiple times. However, when the bill arrived, we were charged €45 for a low-quality dish. When we complained, both the manager and staff were rude, dismissive, and refused to address the issue or refund the overcharge. Avoid this place...
