Osteria Boni — Restaurant in Naples

There was only 1 waiter for the first hour, nice guy, just a shame he was left but himself for so long because it made it very difficult to order water once I had ordered.

The food was okay, too much dough for me (picture), not enough flavour or sauce to go with it. I ordered the gnocchi in a passata sauce with cheese for my main, to avoid any disappointment. It was very salty, so much so that I had to stop and wait 20 minutes to get the waiter's attention for water (not his fault).

I only decided to go to this restaurant to order the pistachio tiramisu but of course they only had the standard one that I've had everywhere across the city. That was very disappointing.

The atmosphere was okay but sitting outside with all the hustle and bustle from the main road, probably wasn't the best choice I've made. Not bad but nothing unique, no real reason to dine here,...

This was our first meal in Naples during my 2 week Italian honeymoon and we were so impressed. We walked over during lunch without a reservation and were able to sit quickly, on the terrace outside. We had two nice glasses of Falanghina wine, a white wine typical to that region of Italy which we werent familiar with before.

We also had the most delicious, fresh bruschetta I've ever had, and two really nice gnocchi dishes - I had the baked gnocchi and my husband had the gnocchi with clams, both were really excellent. The gnocchi were light and pillowy, the sauces were rich, his clams were fresh and my baked gnocchi was was really cheesy.

Visiting Napoli with my wife and 4 month old son. Maybe we caught them at a bad time, however in our entire 10 day stay in Naples this is the only poor experience we had.

Our first attempt we tried to order take away (son was crying and didn’t want to disturb the place) told that wasn’t available. The couple prior to us stood outside and ordered take away/to go…. Second attempt, told we couldn’t sit inside because we didn’t have a reservation, but potentially outside. Outside wasn’t available either due to the rain (there was only 1 family inside the restaurant, 0 patrons outside and it wasn’t raining).

If you’re not fluent in Italian, I would avoid...
