Gastro Matto is INCREDIBLE! Don’t miss out on this gem if you are in Noto, Sicily. We had dinner there tonight and I had to come back to our hotel and write the review immediately because they left such a great impression upon us. The passion and attention to detail were extremely evident in every aspect of our dining experience. The owners and servers were extremely friendly, accommodating, polite, and gave us exceptional service. Every dish we ordered was fresh, hot, cooked perfectly and exploding with exquisite flavor. The main chef is the son of the owner and his culinary skills and expertise were evident even before we took our first bite of food. The presentation of our meals were beautiful and we feasted through our eyes first, and stomachs second. Upon finding out that it was my husband’s birthday tomorrow, the owner, Angela, brought out a special candle for our dessert and sang happy birthday with us. She made what was already a great meal into an exceptional experience. You can tell they take immense pride in their restaurant because in addition to the delicious meal and wonderful service, the entire place was immaculate, (including the restrooms.) We will definitely return back to this restaurant when we visit Noto again and I suggest you do the same! You...

Tasty Sicilian dishes with a bit of a twist. On a side street with fewer people than the main stretch.

The raw fish plate as a starter was one of my favorites, with three different sauces, including one with strawberries, which went really well with it. We also had the mozzarella starter, which also was good, but the tomato sauce could have been a bit better seasoned.

For mains, we got the bacalao and the sea bream, both cooked to perfection.

The only disappointment was the cassata as a dessert. It was frozen solid and hard, however, when we pointed that out they immediately offered an alternative or to simply take it off the bill.

All in all,...

The restaurant has better interior deco than food. We originally wanted to sit indoors because we thought it will be cooler indoors with AC; after sitting down for 15mins or, we realised that we (2 persons) were obviously not important enough for them to turn on the AC, so we switched to outdoors seating. Not a problem, because we understood business owners may have different operational budget constraints. However, we soon found out almost all the seafood we ordered were frozen (mussels taste like plastics in our mouth, soft & chewy with no flavour). 2 stars are for service, because they were very sweet and kept checking with us how we...

Absolutely lovely experience! The restaurant has a warm, cozy charm, made even more special by the owner – a very sweet older lady who clearly pours her heart into the place. She served us her homemade mint limoncello and it was surprisingly delicious – such a unique touch that made the evening feel even more personal. From starters to mains, every dish was cooked to perfection – full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. The service was excellent throughout, warm and attentive without being overbearing. It does get quite busy, so I’d definitely recommend booking a table in advance to avoid missing out. A real gem – we’ll be back!
