My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights for our honeymoon and can't recommend it more highly. The staff were all fantastic; professional, attentive, well informed. Yvonne in particular was wonderful and helped me to arrange a number of activities and restaurant bookings in advance. She also acted as translator for me when collecting a hired vespa from a local shop which she had also arranged for us. We were then able to park the vespa right outside the hotel.
The hotel is situated perfectly right in the heart of the baroque centre of Noto; easy walking distance to all the historical attractions, shops and restaurants. A number of the rooms overlook the main Duomo in the town and the stunning roof terrace bar has 360 views of the town and coast. The hotel is decorated very stylishly with lots of local touches such as ceramics and large glass wine brewing bottles. There are a number of charming spaces to sit including an outdoor 1st floor terrace and ground floor breakfast patio area under the canopy of orange trees. The breakfast selection is fantastic - local meats, cheeses, pastries/cakes, selection of cereals, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, foccacia, fresh juices and even prosecco included. Another bonus is with only 12 rooms in the hotel it never feels crowded, and you often feel like you have the place to yourself.
Loved everything about this Hotel and can't wait to...
Read moreWe recently visited a rooftop bar that had absolutely amazing cocktails – they were flawless, and the view was truly spectacular. However, unfortunately, the service did not live up to the same standard. It was incredibly slow, with zero attention from the staff. We had to wait a really long time for our food, and even longer when we wanted to order a second round of drinks, despite the place being nearly empty.
Another strange aspect was the payment system: after finishing your food and drinks upstairs, you had to go down to the reception desk to pay. There, you had to tell the receptionist exactly what you ordered – and if you didn’t remember the cocktails' fancy names, they had absolutely no idea what to charge you for. Also, the staff upstairs didn’t speak a word of English, which wouldn't be a big problem usually, but not even knowing basic things like "still water" being non-sparkling water made it very frustrating.
At the reception, after we somehow pieced together what we had consumed, the receptionist disappeared for about 15 minutes to find change, and when she returned, she handed us a torn 10-euro note. All in all, the drinks and the view were fantastic, but the service experience left a lot...
Read moreThe Gagliardi Boutique Hotel in Noto was great! The location was perfect, right in the center of town and within walking distance to everything in Noto. Beautiful city!!! We took full advantage of the rooftop bar for happy hour cocktails before dinner (no food is served there). I will say, the bathroom in our room was one of the smallest bathrooms I have ever experienced in a hotel. Sacrifice the bidet for space. The staff are wonderful. Very warm and friendly. The town doesn't come to life until dinnertime because of the heat (8:00/8:30). A lot of the restaurants and shops are closed during the day even though there are a lot of tourists. We loved Noto at night. Very vibrant and lively. I could have walked around for hours. The restaurants are fantastic. We highly recommend Norma Bistrot, Anche gli Angeli, Amancord Restaurant, Orto di Santa Chiara, Trattoria il Buco and Caffe Costanzo. The daily breakfast was OK, but not great. 3 nights is probably the absolute most I would stay in Noto. Would love...
