We had an amazing day at isola San Giulio, and we were blessed with good weather too. As it was past noon, we decided to have lunch at the only restaurant on this tiny island, instead of waiting to get back to the main land. I would not have too many expectations from such a touristic place, even more as there's no competition. But food and service were great. I recommend the rice with lemon. The prices are reasonable and as to be expected in such place. The view is just spectacular. Thank you to the friendly staff

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Here is the letter I wrote to the restaurant after our catastrophic visit. The waiter did remove the two proseccos when we pointed it out on the bill. Madam, Lago d'Orta and S Guilio is one of our favourite places so last week we decided to invite our 14 year old granddaughter for a short visit there in our camper. We had never actually visited the island so decided to have lunch at your restaurant. We based our decision on the information and photos on your website and made a reservation. In short, its was a catastophe. You website gives a totally erroneous image of your establishment. The 22 euro menus posted on your site are not offered in your restaurant. The lovely small dining rooms in the photos were closed. We were seated next to a tour group of at least 40 people, and another one of 10 or 12 and the noise was so loud that we could not even have a conversation. The waiter told me that the menus were still on the website because your webmaster was sick, which was an insult to my intelligence. The food was mediocre and served like in a cafeteria. The steaks were not medium rare but medium well-done, the pasta was just dumped on the plate with no garnish. The waiter was polite and offred us a glass of prosecco to compensate for the missing menus. Then he put it on our bill! Three euros for a small carafe of water is an outrage when you already pay two euros for the cover charge. We should have left before ordering and we certainly won't be back. The only positive thing I can say is that the view was lovely. I shall be rating your restaurant on all the evalutation sites. I suggest that you have your website renewed to reflect the truth ... when your webmaster recovers from his obviously long illness! Carol Collins

Not cheap but the only restaurant of the island San Giulio. The menu is done with typical dishes with some nice one with sea food. My squid dish was very interesting, strong tastes. Location is great on the sea. I would say it is a good surprise as you can eat some very good dishes (and not only the touristic dish) with sea or lake food. Service was nice. I you want to have the table directly on the sea it seems you need to book it. A pretty good place.

We have been several times in different years in this restaurant. For us it is always a highlight. Ok sometimes it is not exactly what the menu says. Like julienne is then just normal thin sliced. But the quality of the food, the perfect balanced dish, the presentation and the swift and friendly service makes us always coming back. And even this restaurant is fully booked....you never wait to long for your next course.

the location is fantastic, especially the view from the terrace. the negative side is that we called to know if there were gluten-free dishes and they told us that some options were available. but when we arrived the waiter told us that only some starters, two dishes and few desserts were actually gluten-free. this said the food was really good and the staff pretty nice.

Rustic and elegant at the same time. We we’re scouting for future tours but they were fully booked for lunch however they offered us Aperitivo while we checked out the menu and dining room. Our favorite kind of menu small so we don’t have to guess what is good, decent wine list for being on an island. All the staff was super friendly we are definitely coming back
