Beware of the owner and his tricks.

He prays on tourists. I ordered a cocktail and my friend ordered a glass of white wine. The owner brought out 2 cocktails, instead. My friend felt bad to reject what she didn't order. I also ordered mini appetizer ( 1.50euros). I noticed everyone had a sampler platter (10 euros). I went in to confirm I wanted the cheaper item, and if course, the owner was preparing the more expensive plate, which explained why so many people had the sampler platter. He was annoyed when I said it's not what I ordered.

They may not have ordered it but the owner served it and then charged them too. My friend kept saying her cocktail tasted like juice- turned out instead of giving her the glass of wine she ordered, he gave her a non-alcoholic drink.

Pay attention Make sure what you order is what you get. The owner seems more interested in making money off tourists ( that be likely won't see again) than providing good service for...

Serata tranquilla in cerca di un buon APERITIVO possibilmente tipico (come da menù), giacché si chiama APERITIPICO e viene sponsorizzato persino fuori dalla struttura. Data la posizione centrale e la splendida location cittadina ci si aspetterebbe un servizio di qualità ottima o comunque superiore alla media. I cocktail sono l'unica nota positiva inquanto, rispecchiano le aspettative, risultando davvero buoni. Parlando del famigerato APERITIPICO, sarebbe meglio non dedicargli neanche un minuto e spendere parole inutili, ma per il vostro bene ve lo descriverò. L'aperitivo TIPICO di compone di un buon capocollo e una buona pancetta arrotolata (benché non sia stato conservato bene, dato il colore quasi nero), una ricottiba, di buon sapore, (ma è pur sempe una ricottiba semplicissima),due fette di pecorino( buono ma nulla di eccezionale e soprattutto NON TIPICO), due crostini simil brischette, dure come il marmo, con pomodoro scondito (buono il pomodoro, perché una delle poche cose fresche) una tortina di pasta sfoglia fatta in casa, buona ma non eccelsa, due fiori di zucchina pastellati, di almeno 3/4 giorni, duri come l'asfalto, dal sapore orribile. Una polpetta vecchia, scaldata già tagliata, DAVVERO RIPUGNANTE, INDEGNA. Una fruttati a di zucchine, vecchissima e dal sapore poco buono, onestamente, una simil parmigiana di melanzane, nera come la notte, brutta sia di aspetto che di sapore. Una burrata, TIPICA, ma Rancida è dir poco ( non venire a dirmi che è naturalmente acida perché lo so anche io ma questa era miserabilmente indegna. MARCIA,e dovete spiegarmi come si fa a rovinare una burrata). Per ultimo, prodotto TIPICISSIMO i carciofi sotto aceto simil Ponti. Pastellati e fritti o scolati e dati al naturale, o frullati su un crostino. Il risultato è davvero becero. Mi sono ritrovato a dover pagare troppo per un "APERITIVO TIPICO" DAVVERO JNFIMO EDI BASSISSIMA LEGA, VALORE MOLTO MENO DI ZERO. ( NON LO DAREI NEANCHE A GRATIS). MI SONO SENTITO DERUBATO, OFFESO E SE QUESTO È IL BIGLIETTO DA VISITA DEL SALENTO O DELLA PUGLIA NON TORNERÒ PIÙ. Servizio nella media ma consiglierei di puntare SOLO sui cocktail (molto buoni) e lasciare la cucina ai professionisti. GRAZIE DI NULLA E A MAI PIÙ! PS. Sono obbligato a mettere una stella sennò...

They're playing reggaeton, one of the servers is from South America, and you're in Italy having a cocktail with guava in it. It doesnt totally make sense, but yes it does. There is great atmosphere here at this cafe next to one of the staircases in Piazza della Liberta. I walked by this place four or five times during my stay in Ostuni and had a cocktail once, so the one time it wasn't a great atmosphere was when all the English football fans came and were just as loud, drunk, and obnoxious as you would expect. Because this place has tons of great outdoors seating, it actually is really good for groups, but if that's not your vibe, just come back...
