Gelateria del Fico — Restaurant in Otranto

After walking along Otranto’s old town and soaking up the marina views, we stumbled into Gelateria del Fico and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. I ordered stracciatella and ricotta, a pairing that completely redefined gelato for me. The stracciatella had a silky vanilla base laced with delicate shards of chocolate that melted on the tongue. The ricotta was incredible: luxuriously creamy, with a natural sweetness and a gentle tang, like cheesecake in frozen form. Together, the flavors balanced richness with freshness, decadent yet refreshing and not too sweet.

This is more than just a quick stop! It’s a place that captures the essence of Salento with artisanal quality and flavors that are memorable. Highly recommended if you’re anywhere...

Sorry, but the 4.7 rating feels very misleading, we also came here because of it. Unfortunately, the ice cream was served so poorly into the cone that it even broke, and as soon as we stepped outside both ice creams started melting right away, probably due to the texture of some of the flavors. Some flavors were not bad, but we definitely wouldn’t call it the best...

Una gelateria che merita davvero 5 stelle! Ogni volta che ci vado resto colpito sia dalla qualità del gelato che dall’attenzione al cliente. Il servizio è fantastico: il personale è sempre sorridente, gentile e disponibile a consigliare i gusti del giorno. La varietà è incredibile: ci sono sempre nuove proposte da assaggiare, tutte realizzate con ingredienti freschi e genuini. È davvero difficile scegliere, perché viene voglia di provarli tutti! In più la gelateria dispone di tantissimi posti a sedere, comodi e ben distribuiti, perfetti per godersi il gelato con calma. La posizione è spettacolare: sedersi qui con una coppetta o una cialda in mano e ammirare la vista sul mare è un’esperienza che rende tutto ancora più speciale.
