Hugely disappointing Gluten-Free Experience at Bistro 107- I chose Bistro 107 in Palermo due to its large advertised gluten-free (GF) menu and convenient location, but it turned out to be an expensive letdown. While they charge an additional €1 per dish for GF options, which I was fine with, it felt like they were exploiting people with gluten sensitivities by serving subpar food. This isn't fair to GF diners or Sicilian cuisine.

Positive- Drinks arrived quickly, though the bottles were already opened, which is a major service faux pas — they should always open them at the table. The local GF craft beer was good.

Negatives- We ordered the mixed fried platter for two, and it was mostly filled with fries to bulk it up. The mini arancino was just one small piece and was plain but okay. Zucchini fritter balls and onion rings were also passable, but the bruschetta with caponata was terrible — the caponata was a sweet, oozing vegetable mix that didn't work at all. The sardine involtini was inedible, with an unpleasant mushy paste inside. And I generally enjoy sardines! Their take on traditional Sicilian Pasta alla Norma was a huge disappointment — sugary and unbalanced. To their credit, they removed it from the bill after we complained. The Tagliatelle Idra, essentially egg pasta with mixed seafood and pesto, was another failure. It arrived as a watery, tasteless sludge. Halfway through our meal, the electricity went out, and although it came back on after a few minutes, the AC never did. It was uncomfortably hot for the remainder of our time there. One of the waiters near our table was acting inappropriately towards the two girls at the next table, which they spoke up against and he went away, but it made for an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Overall, I would recommend avoiding Bistro 107. It's the first restaurant in Italy where I've had bad food, and the experience was disappointing from both a gluten-free and general dining...

TL:DR - DO NOT BE FOOLED BY OBVIOUS FAKE REVIEWS THIS PLACE IS TRASH.

My GF is gluten free so our options are often limited. Made the mistake of coming here twice Because (again) limited options. Both times the food was terrible border line inedible. Service also lacking.

Fish trio - Swordfish was dry as a bone, super thin, and tasted like it was a week old. Barely ate any of it. Prawns overcooked. Fried squid was rubbery and the breading barely coated it. Seems like it was probably frozen.

Second time I came (today) we were in a rush to grab something for my GF and I had the Fish Ravioli.

It was disgusting. Tasted like canned fish. Old sour fishy flavor. Almost gagged when it was in my mouth.

When I returned it, they said “it’s not our problem”.

I paid and we immediately left. They didn’t even offer a discount, and I didn’t really feel like fighting about $18EU

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY OBVIOUS FAKE REVIEWS THIS PLACE IS TRASH.

RE: Their reply: They did NOT give me a discount. Whoever is tasting the fish has no business being in a kitchen. It tasted like canned tuna. Terrible old fish flavor.

My GF indeed liked the dish; but you're in SICILY - THE FISH CAPITAL! Your fish is...

Not the best delivery experience. Ordered Polish Combo, Indian Combo, Paccheri Achille and Insalata Bufalina. If you read the description of the “Menu” (or Combo) items, it sounds like you’re getting a burger. The combo doesn’t actually come as a combo unless you request the combo (+5 euro on top of the 10 euro) which gives you fries and a drink. In reality it’s not a burger - you just get all the ingredients of a burger thrown into a bowl with the sauce on the side. Paccheri Achille was okay. There was way too much melted cheese on top which was already elastic by the time in reached my door. Maybe when it’s warm, it’s good - so I won’t say anything negative on that. The salad wasn’t good. It was literally one piece of Bufala thrown in with a bunch of cabbage and tomatoes, with a couple rocket leaves and not even any olive oil or any seasoning. On top of the negative experience, for what you get, the price is ridiculously high. I will not order...

What an amazing find! I was lucky to get a table at around 2pm on a Sunday, and I'm so glad I did. The waiters are charming, friendly, and very helpful. I'm dairy-intolerant, but they were happy to give me Pecorino (ewe) instead of Parmesano with my meal. I had the Sliced Beef with Rocket and Cheese, and it was lovely. The beef was cooked to perfection, medium-rare as I asked for. The taste was fantastic, really good. I also had a glass of organic Nero d'Avola, and ended with a Caffe Lungo. The atmosphere is wonderful. I could tell there were a good mix of returning customers, Italians, and tourists. The decor is quirky and unique, with sayings and poetry in Italian and in English all around, and fantastic sketches of famous people on the back wall where I sat. I'll go again. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great food, great service, great ambience

Highly recommend this place. Very attentive stuff, they are cheerful and always glad to help) Thet also know English well and have a printed menu in English, which is a great advantage. We have been here 2 times already. First time, we got 2 menus: fish and meat. They were great, personally, I liked fish menu slightly more, but meat menu was also good. A small advice from me: take 1 menu for 2 people if you are not very hungry or if you usually eat small portion of food, because their menus are HUGE. For the second time, we took a kraken grouper ravioli and Sicilian citrus risotto. I really recommend ravioli, the tastiest dish I tried here! Cocktails are also fine, one of the tastiest Aperol is prepared here. Overall, that’s my favourite place in Palermo.
