Reply: There are two of us in presence, both of our reviews are factual reflection of how we felt from our visits. We were upset by your service (which worsens with the way you handled negative reviews with rudeness). We were able to watch Euro Cup and enjoy drinks at a different store that provided excellent and honest service. You by copy + paste again only proves my review and what I revealed about what actually happened. Happy Santa Rosalia. We are not unkind human being. We leave truthful 1-star reviews but we don’t curse others just because of how they made us feel. That’s not the right attitude to treat this world 🙏🏻
—Original review— We were upset for the way we were treated. You might be hard working, but that does NOT make up to how your employees poorly communicated. Your videos might capture movements, but boss, here is what actually happened at the scene and what your employees and you said to us in person:
We ALSO stood and waited until a table opens up (meanwhile NO ONE greeted us). We moved over to that table, after a few minutes, someone came over with menus. A few minutes after we browsed the menus, he came to us again and asked if we were going to order food. It’s been a while since we sat down and handed with menus. He did not kick us away for a RESERVATION so what you said in the other comment is not true. We told him we wanted to order cocktails. After a while, another person came, and explained that you are a restaurant and cannot serve drinks only, and that’s when we politely asked if it is okay we order drinks and some bites. Your employee turnt around and spoke to you in Italian which we don’t understand, but the next second, your employee told us “Sorry, the table is reserved”, and then we were kicked out and the table was given to a group of Caucasian men.
If it was truly reserved like you claimed, why were we asked about ordering food or drinks first, instead of being told about another group’s reservation? Even if so, that also means you and your employees communicate poorly because we were not told to “exchange” tables unlike what you lied in the other comment. If you really care about your rating, then you should have treated your potential customers equally. Only when I was taking pictures of the sign, you got nervous and finally came over to ask if there is something you could do. Those are the actions you should have taken before you treated anyone with discrimination.
After this, we walked to other stores and they treated everyone with the same type of service, unlike your store. We understand it’s a busy night for Euro Cup final, but you cannot make up stories and falsify what...
Read moreEdit to my edit: This is like an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen Nightmares (Google “Amy’s Baking Company”, I am sure the owner is the same person). I actually enjoy this back and forth at this point. The owner criticizes me and everyone here, and chastises me personally for editing the review after 10 days. However, I have a life and don’t spend every day checking Google reviews. Case-in-bottom: I would not recommend supporting this business merely by virtue of the owner being like this? No wonder the food is not up-to-spec. 1 star.
Edit, preface: I only wrote this review because the waiter asked me to do so twice, and gave me an extra limencello to do so (he was very nice though) - I was originally not going to write any review, but only did so because of this. Now I see how crazily the owner reacts to (constructive) criticism, so I am reducing my rating to two stars which is what I initially wanted to give. Three stars were just to be nice
I should also add that the octopus was very chewy and rubbery, despite looking alright.
Regarding the hasty service, the waiter forgot us and rushed off before we could finish the order of an additional round of Aperol, to fetch an ashtray, that she forgot again.
The only highlight was the seafood pasta which was pretty good.
Atmosphere gets a 3/5 because I had nice company.
Original review:
The food was a bit disappointing and didn’t look like the other photos here. The taglieri cold cut and cheese was really bad with brown iceberg lettuce, and the service, while nice, was awfully rushed. There are...
Read moreThe lowlight of our Italian trip, which is a shame because the place had a huge potential. The food was actually tasty but the service simply abysmal. Firstly, the waitress did not speak any English (at all), but also made no attempts to communicate through any common words - she would simply talk at us in Italian louder and louder in full sentences, getting annoyed that we cannot understand her. Secondly, we were refused a desert because the restaurant got too busy for them to bother (see other reviews) - we only found this out an hour after finishing the main and 3 attempts to order later - as per the 1. above, we had to rely on someone to translate for us. Thirdly, we never succeeded in obtaining an actual itemised / register receipt - we were only offered the waitress's scribbles, and are fairly sure we overpaid.
EDIT: This is the first time I've edited my review to address the owner's response. I've actually really enjoyed reading it, as it perfectly exemplifies what to expect from the restaurant.
A) A response 11 months after the review; focused entirely on bashing the customer, with no admission of any wrongdoing; B) I loved the whole "you sir don't speak english" thrown at a British citizen (also, very naughty of you dear owners for making bold and xenophobic assumptions based solely on the customer's name); C) No comment from them about the fact that they refused to provide a receipt (oh, how I wish I kept...
