Our B&B host, who was from Palermo, referred us to Mooddica so we decided to have our aperitivo there.
... And then we stayed for more aperitivo, and for dinner, because it was all just so delicious!
We started with a tasting platter of local produce: cheese, salami, mortadella, marinated olives and home-made toasts, marmelade and potato flan. Now: many places in Palermo offer this option but the guys at Mooddica seem to have access to a superior tier of suppliers and/or simply have elite cooking skills. This was, hands down, the most delicious, refined selection of bites we had in Sicily, period.
Alongside, we sampled two white wines of which the second, a dry Malvasia from Lipari, was such a hit that we are planning to order a few bottles from a Belgian importer. Many thanks to our sommelier-host for the suggestion!

So, do yourself a favour and grab a seat at Mooddica. Friendly service, good location close to the four corners and absolutely amazing food and wine. Highly...

The owner was very kind and even gave me a complimentary half glass of wine. It was very cute, just off a quiet piazza with a few other places. It wasn’t busy—would’ve loved to see it busier because the owners were kind and generous and the food was...
Read moreWe passed by MOODDICA for aperitivo pre dinner, so Apericena. They have a formula where you pay 20 euro for tagliere (charcuterie board) and a glass of wine. They brought us the tagliere with cured meat, cheese and other typical goods from Palermo and OMG, everything was absolutely fantastic! The owner of the place is amazing, he is very kind and explained everything in detail. He was very friendly and polite and the atmosphere was the perfect dolce far niente typical of Italian summer! Go if you...
