We were drawn to this restaurant thanks to glowing recommendations from some family members. And I must admit, it started off on a high note: the Parmesan was delightful, and the flan deserved a round of applause. But, as in a movie with an unexpected twist, the plot quickly took a less appetizing turn.
I ordered lasagna which, sadly, was so overcooked it bordered on dry. My wife, in hopeful anticipation of a juicy sirloin with vegetables, was presented with a sirloin that resembled carpaccio more than anything. And the vegetables? They must have been on a stealth mission, as they were nowhere to be seen on the plate. When we pointed out this slight oversight to the waiter, he graciously suggested that perhaps we had made an error in our order. How considerate!
Oh, and let's not forget the saga of the elusive glass of wine. We ordered an additional one, and despite our best attempts at miming "wine pouring" and vocalizing our request multiple times, it seems the wine embarked on a world tour before reaching our table. Spoiler: it never did.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a memorable dining experience for all the wrong reasons and service that leaves much to be desired, you've hit the jackpot. Otherwise, I'd strongly advise...

At first, we were very impressed by the refined atmosphere at Ristorante Cocchi – white tablecloths, an elegant dining room, and a well-dressed, mature Italian staff that gave the place a classic charm.
Wanting to step outside my usual vegetarian choices, I ordered the veal with porcini mushrooms, which was the daily special. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a real disappointment. The portion was small, with more fat than meat, and I ended up leaving half of it on the plate. From the table next to us, the pasta with porcini looked far more appealing – perhaps that would have been the better choice.
Dessert, a duchesse-style little cake, was overly sweet and unbalanced. Finally, when the bill arrived, the third disappointment: €94 for two veal dishes, a dessert, two glasses of wine, water, and coffee. For what we received, it felt very overpriced.
Overall, Cocchi has the atmosphere and the service of a fine traditional restaurant, but the food and value fell far short of...
Read moreSome of the best service experienced. Despite not fluent in english the server really tried to cater to our needs, introduce us to new dishes and describe them. There is also the usual good service from fancy restaurant.
The food was good. We had puff pastry with various cured meats and that was a great appetizer. Because my daughter wasnt feeling well the server recommended the soup and agnolotti. Delicious and the soup hit the spot! Next up is the boiled meat, a Parma tradition. I enjoyed half of the meats but the other half was just too salty. They are cured and stuffed and the waiter warned us it may be too salty for our liking but we just had to try the dish so this one is on us. Last of all we got sweet glazed duck. The duck glaze was good but the meat was a bit dry. This is the only dish which i think they can improve.
At the end we were given complimentary ice cream to help make my daughter feel better.
Overall great experience and i would definitely go back if i...
