disgusting.
i was very excited to go to this restaurant as my friends highly recommended it, but i was extremely disappointed with my experience. everything was going well till the third course when we tried the salad and it had the taste of hand sanitizer… but whatever we brushed that off, but then as i was eating a piece of chicken i saw thick black hair baked into the chicken. i was wary of it but we thought maybe it was chicken hair so i brushed it off and just grabbed another piece, inspected it with my flashlight before eating and i found a LONG blond ish hair again baked into the chicken… i was disgusted so we told the waiter and he took it back after giving us a face. we told him we did not wanted to eat anymore but to still bring out dessert as my friends wanted cake before we left. after we finished, we went down to pay and i decided to speak to the manager about my experience and he was EXTREMELY rude and not accommodating at all. he was insistent that the hair was chicken and then when i showed him the video took of us pulling the long hair out of the chicken, he again insisted that it was chicken hair AND THEN told us that it was our hair! i was in shock, never have i been treated this way in any country or restaurant. we were made to pay full price (an absurd €19 for this disgusting food) and when i told him the salad tasted like hand sanitizer he laughed in mine and my friends face. this is not hospitality and i am extremely disappointed and disgusted at the management of that restaurant. do better and be kind! it is not...
Read moreThey serve a fix menu with 4 courses for 15€. The focaccias (the call them pieces of pizza) were all veggie and very good. Next I was served 2 different kind of pasta - home made of course. The Tagliatelle were good, the macaroni even better. Shame they both came with the same sauce... It was a regular sugo (tomatoe sauce) and definitely could have used a bit more basil, pepper and for those into cheese, Parmigianino. What I liked about the place is that the guy on the travel next to me got another round of pasta on demand. So no one leave the place feeling hungry! What I didn't like is that the have no alternative for the main course. I had to stick with pork. No veggie option. The salad that came with the meat was not really making up for this. The dessert was good though. And after all of that they also served a shot of sweet wine :) The atmosphere overall is vibrant and busy - though the waiters really should relaxe a little and also have a laugh with there guests every now and than. That would give the place a more homey touch - rather than having the feeling of watching an airport restaurant and being bummed into every so often, because of all the rush. What else: Bottle of red wine 5€, bottle of water 1€, Espresso 1€. Really...
Read moreThe menu is fixed for each day, but never disappointing and always unbelievably cheap. Portions are huge, so you will have to pace yourself in the beginning if you want to taste all the goodness they have to offer. Dishes are typical to the region, which are local variations on many known Italian dishes. There are often a few Erasmus students among the staff, so not speaking Italian will not be a problem. They can help you decipher the menu which is written in a Perugian dialect. The restaurant is popular with both tourists and locals and seems to often attract families, sometimes with small children. Combined with the the stone arches of this cellar-like place it can get quite loud. However, this also adds to a certain...
