La Barcaccia — Restaurant in Pescara

Excellent seafood from a fresh, daily menu.

I was recommended this restaurant and found some reviews indicating the quality of service was lacking; well this was not my experience at all! The waiter was very attentive, experienced and knowledgeable about all the dishes and drinks. The professional way the dishes were introduced, with a little background about the local ingredients etc., made my evening dining alone (on a business trip) feel like an occasion. Exceptional service!

Prices were very reasonable, considering the quality of the food and setting. The prices may increase during the peak season as I visited in March but it is a seaside (beach front) restaurant so is to be expected.

As already mentioned, I was dining alone but have given 5 stars for atmosphere also as I felt very welcome and noticed all the other groups of diners were having a great time - I hope to visit again with some companions one day. Overall, I highly recommend...

Never back here and a place to avoid because the waiters! I chose this location for a special dinner for my birthday. Besides the fact that the dishes were mediocre, at a price of over 250 euros for 5 dishes, 1 bottle of wine and 2 desserts, the staff was unpleasant, full of lies and focused on taking the sums out of your pocket, for dishes poor food. If I wanted to spoil the dinner, I would have filed a complaint for the maximum tip offered by the two disappointing waiters and I would have asked for the money back. Very expensive place for one of the worst experience I had in Pescara. The restaurant is quite old and the deco is plain and untasteful, I ve reserved a table for two asking something special and romantic, they just ignored my request and gave us a table close to the kitchen.... 50 mins waiting time for the starters and over 2 hours for a 3 course meal. Only one waiter to attend 8 tables, not even once refilled the glasses, asking for more water or if things were of our tasting. Pasta was salty and undercooked, Rombo to forget and the oven roasted potatoes were dry and greasy. The bill for 8 oysters, 2 starters, 1 pasta and 1 secondo came 140€!!!!...
