La focacceria dei sani — Restaurant in Pisa

I decided to have my dinner there because I saw on google maps that they have almost 5 stars and I thought it’s a focacceria, how long can it take.

Oh believe me it took us almost 2 hours. When we arrived, it was fairly empty so we sat a table we chose. Then the waiter never came to give us the menu and take the order. After I called him, it still took him at least 15 minutes to come just to bring the menu and clean the table (remaining stuff from the previous customers). In the meantime I saw very clearly that he prioritised other tables which came way later than we did. Then after ordering, it took them to bring us the food at least half an hour. I repeat, this is just focaccia and you are supposed to heat it and put some salame and cheese in it and bring it. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes let’s say. And I repeat, the restaurant was quite empty when we arrived. The food was tasty, no problem with that. Except it wasn’t even warm, let alone being hot. And finally we wanted to pay, but we were still kept waiting to pay, stood up at the cash register. And they charged us more, we suspect, as they didn’t give a receipt showing the price of each food. I don’t know the reason at all, you might think it’s because we are tourists but no, my friend is Italian and I speak Italian too. I will never ever go there...

The food is super good, but we were treated rather disrespectfully. There wasn't a free table available and we were willing to wait, but the waiter didn't seem to care, so we ordered for take out just in case a table would open in the meantime. While we were waiting there were two tables free, so after a while we sat down in one of them. The waiter just dropped our order on the table without saying a word. We wanted to stay for longer and order drinks, but we felt unwelcome and left the place.

Malheureusement je ne mets que deux étoiles car bien que les foccacias soient excellentes, ça a été un parcours du combattant pour les obtenir !! Voulant absolument manger une foccacia durant notre court voyage et rapide escale à Pise, j'avais repéré la focacceria pour ne pas perdre trop de temps à chercher et être sûrs de manger une bonne foccacia. Arrivés sur place, il y avait deux tables libres dehors et avons pris celle de deux places.. Personne n'est venu nous voir donc je suis allée à l'intérieur pour passer la commande. Malheureusement, aucun sourire du personnel et au moment de passer commande (avec le peu d'italien que je connais je parlais espagnol) on m'a demandé si c'était pour emporter ou sur place, j'ai alors dit qu'on avait pris la table dehors. J'ai senti une tension supplémentaire de la serveuse et du gars qui a quand même pris ma commande après m'avoir dit qu'il faut voir avec la serveuse.. Je suis retournée dehors, les tables étaient vides, mais un peu plus remplies dedans. Nous avons vu quelques temps après un tableau à l'extérieur qui disait d'attendre avant de s'asseoir.. mais personne ne me l'a dit la première fois que je suis rentrée.. Au bout de 25mn je suis retournée à l'intérieur, la serveuse m'ignorait, je lui ai alors demandé comment ça se passait vu que j'avais quand même passé commande, et le gars me dit qu'il n'avait pas marqué ma commande la première fois.. J'ai demandé à ce que ce soit à emporter et au bout de moins de 10mn, nous avions enfin nos foccacias !! Qui malheureusement avec cette expérience n'avaient pas la même saveur.. 1h en tout.. je reviendrais avec plaisir mais ayant travaillé dans la restauration rapide, je vous assure qu'acceuillir les clients avec le sourire et une certaine attention même s'il y a du monde, même si c'est éprouvant, c'est mieux pour...
