Pisa Caffè — Restaurant in Pisa

During our visit to Pisa, my companion and I had the absolute pleasure of discovering this incredible restaurant located just steps away from the Leaning Tower. I can honestly say it was one of the true highlights of our trip and it’s by far the best eatery in this area.

From the very first moment, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff are not just polite, but genuinely kind and attentive, creating an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and special. You can immediately tell they care about their guests, taking the time to recommend dishes thoughtfully and making you feel at home without ever being overbearing or insincere.

The food was absolutely exceptional. I had the Risotto Milanese on our first visit, and it was the best risotto I’ve ever tasted. It was perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. My companion’s dish was just as delicious. We were so impressed by the overall experience that we decided on the spot to come back the very next day and it was absolutely worth it. On our second visit, I tried a pasta dish from the daily specials, recommended by the staff, and again, it was simply amazing.

The prices are very fair, especially considering the outstanding quality of the food and the location just steps away from one of the most famous landmarks in the world.

Unfortunately, we witnessed some unpleasant behavior from the promoter of a neighboring restaurant, who tried to pull guests away by falsely claiming that this place had poor food quality. After our own wonderful experiences here, we can confidently say that nothing could be further from the truth. This restaurant is honest, passionate and offers a level of hospitality and food quality that is rare to find, especially in such a touristy area.

If you are visiting Pisa, do yourself a favor and come here. It will make your trip even more special. We would come back again in...

A terrible place. All the low-rated reviews are absolutely justified. You probably won’t find worse food. We ordered several types of Italian pasta and aubergine with cheese. First of all, the aubergine looked nothing like the picture in the menu. It’s disappointing when you expect a beautiful dish like the one shown, but instead, you get something completely different that doesn’t even look appetizing. Secondly, the pasta wasn’t impressive either. The pasta was overcooked — definitely not Italian al dente. There was no cheese, no herbs, no aroma, no flavor, no character — nothing even remotely close. The carbonara was very plain, with barely any bacon, and it didn’t have even a hint of cream, cheese, or fresh herbs. The Bolognese was also bad — too tomato-heavy and had not a single shred of cheese. After eating it, I felt sick and thought I wouldn’t fall asleep. The lasagna wasn’t good either… Another unpleasant thing — all the pasta had a strange aftertaste, like dish soap. The only tasty thing was the complimentary focaccia bread.

The only real “plus” worth mentioning is the staff. The workers are great. Thanks to the polite and friendly staff, this restaurant still has any customers at all.

A message to the management: Please, change the chef or make drastic changes to the recipes. What we ate was worse than...

Wir wurden von einer Bedienung die uns die Karte des Hauses zeigte angesprochen. Nachdem wir freundlich durch diese Bedienungen die vor der Tür nach Gästen Ausschau gehalten hat in das Restaurant geleitet wurden, wurde der Service auch schon von seiner "besten" Seite gezeigt.

Mit 4 Personen waren wir unterwegs und eine davon ging direkt auf die Örtlichkeiten. In der Zeit kam eine andere Bedienung und fragte uns nach der Getränkebestellung. Da wir noch drei Personen am Tisch waren, wollten wir für uns 4 schon einmal Getränke bestellen. Kaum waren "zwei Radler" bestellt bzw. ausgesprochen, wurde nicht weiter zugehört und es kamen zwei statt der gewünschten 4 Getränke. OK, es war eine ziemlich gestresste Atmosphäre, was man auch im weiteren Verlauf zu spüren bekam und man betonen muss, ES WAR NICHT VOLL im Restaurant.

Nun war die vierte Person mit am Tisch und es kam die gleiche Bedienung und wir bestellten die letzten beiden Getränke. Diese Bestellung wurde dann aber auch gleich wieder vergessen, denn die Bedienung war gleich wieder damit beschäftigt neue Kunden von draußen nach drinnen zu komplimentieren. Wir riefen eine andere Bedienung, die uns dann endlich die letzten beiden Getränke brachte. Soweit, so gut...

Nun zu den Örtlichkeiten, in den eine aus unserer Gruppe Anfangs war einen Schock bekam und ich mich auch später davon überzeugen konnte. Die Toiletten, eine absolute Katastrophe... Alt, unsauber und nicht zumutbar - auch nicht für italienische Verhältnisse!

Jetzt zum Essen, wir wollten Spagetti bestellen und diese gab es nicht - man sollte meinen wir sind in einem italienischen Restaurant und hier gehen die Spagetti nicht aus, zumal man uns genau diese Seite in der Karte am Anfang präsentierte.

Wir hatten jetzt als Alternative zwei mal Lasagne und Tortellini bestellen wollen und auch da musste die Kellnerin vorab in die Küche und fragen, ob den Tortellini vorrätig sind, was diese auch Gott sei Dank waren.

Nach ca. 20 Min. kam das Essen und nun ja... Man kann nur sagen, ja es war heiß, aber eine Blamage für die italienische Küche. Denn es war keine, man hat geschmeckt, dass nichts davon handgemacht war, bzw. frisch zubereitet war. Die Portionen waren mit Verlaub ein Witz, zum satt werden lange nicht ausreichend. Eher ein Snack kann man sagen.

Fertig mit dem Essen und raus dachten wir.

Nun haben wir die Rechnung bestellt und eine dritte Kellnerin die nach dem Verhalten, auch die Chefin war, nahm die Bestellung entgegen. Diese legte uns kurz darauf recht unfreundlich die Rechnung auf den Tisch mit Worten "gleich zurück" und weg war sie.

Nach etwa 10 Min. der Missachtung ist eine von uns an den Tresen hat das Geld hingelegt und wir sind gegangen.

Fazit: Finger weg!!! Die zwei Sterne für das Ambiente auch nur deswegen, weil die vordere Terrasse zum sitzen einlädt. Ansonsten ist alles sehr abgelebt, die Tischdecken haben Flecken und sauber ist nicht viel, außer das Besteck und die...
