Scaccomalto - Tap Room — Restaurant in Pisa

Tonight was our first night back at Scaccomalto after the lockdown. It is my favorite brewery in Pisa and it was wonderful to sit outside and enjoy a draft beer and a delicious sandwich. My favorite beer is the funesta, but all of their beers are exceptional and they graciously let you taste what is on tap before you order. The sandwiches are also wonderful. The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They will adapt any sandwich to a vegetarian version. Our favorite is the Regina, which my husband takes in its original meat form, and I have with grilled vegetables substituted for the meat. Great craft brewery and we enjoyed the two different IPA's.

Ordered food and while the pulled pork burger was great, the Magnum chicken wrap had a really strange flavour.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the wrap, it just had some ingredient that I didn't like, but I couldn't put my finger on the flavour.

There is a stack of boardgames that you can play if that's your thing and the guy behind the bar was so friendly with advice and things to do in the area.

Only three stars because of customer service. This place aims for a local young customer crowd. You need a working smartphone so you can order from the menu, otherwise you are at the mercy of the staff. I tried to order and my phone was not working, they told me like 4 times use the QR code. Until they realised that it’s not working. After that I got a menu card, which was sort of in Italian.
