Bisteccatoscana — Restaurant in Pistoia

This was our first visit at this lovely restaurant. I booked about a month before the Valentine Day via. Whatsapp and they responded to my request fairly quick. We received a very warm welcome from the owner upon arrival. He gave us the "classic" tour described by many reviewers. He also presented my wife a beautiful rose for the Valentine Day. We ordered the Valentine Special which I believe is the regular Florentine set dinner but with the special "heart"/Valentine theme (see photo). I also ordered a bottle of Ferrari champaign which was priced very reasonable. We truly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of restaurant. Bisteccatoscana was the greatest dining experience of my life and we were so fortunate to be able to enjoy it twice while staying in Pistoia. I’ve worked in many restaurants as well as dined at so many around the world and this was by far my favorite meal ever. The friendly staff, the beautiful restaurant and lastly the amazing unforgettable food was just absolutely incredible. I brought my wife and our 3 year old son and were treated like family! Esperienza indimenticabile e ottimo cibo!

Siamo stati accolti con grande cordialità da Gerardo, il proprietario: una persona squisita, simpatica e al tempo stesso molto attenta e professionale. Ci ha spiegato il menù con passione e ci ha mostrato la griglia, ripresa in diretta da una telecamera, così da poter seguire comodamente dal tavolo le fasi di cottura della carne. Un tocco davvero originale che aggiunge ancora più valore all’esperienza.

Dopo una panzanella di benvenuto, siamo passati a un delizioso piatto di antipasti misti — tra cui crostini toscani, frittatine al tartufo e salumi locali — per poi arrivare al vero protagonista: la bistecca da 1.200 grammi, divisa in due come da menù, cotta alla perfezione e servita al tavolo in modo scenografico.

Abbiamo accompagnato il tutto con un tris di contorni (patate al forno, ceci speziati, carote e peperoni), per poi chiudere in dolcezza con cantucci e vin santo. La carta dei vini è ampia e ben studiata, con opzioni adatte a tutte le tasche.

Alla fine delle serata abbiamo avuto anche il piacere di scambiare due chiacchiere con Gerardo sulla bacheca di foto appese di alcuni ospiti celebri e abituali del ristorante: un segnale che dimostra quanto tenga davvero alla sua clientela.

Alla fine, usciti e trovandoci sotto la pioggia, Gerardo ci ha gentilmente prestato un ombrello per poter raggiungere l’hotel asciutti. Un gesto semplice ma di una gentilezza rara, che racchiude lo spirito di questo posto.

Esperienza perfetta sotto ogni punto di vista. Consigliatissimo se passate da Pistoia merita davvero.
