Pistoia Sotterranea — Attraction in Pistoia

Excellent informative tour of the old surgery teaching area and underground tunnels at the old Pistoia hospital. The English tour was really good and our guide was great at providing information and answering questions. The underground part of the tour takes you along the old river and you come back above ground close to the church about 650m from where you start. The place is very interesting but weren't satisfied about the guide. That person wasn't maybe very clear in the explanation and also didn't wait for all the group to be near to start talking. We missed some parts and at the end we are confused about the story of the underground. It could have been better. Also, there were foreigners with us and the guide couldn't speak English but tried anyway with a few words in English.. It...

I absolutely loved this museum! Our enthusiastic guide shared the city's history with the river and the remarkable journey of its oldest hospital. The highlight for me was the unique mug design, specifically made for plague patients. Its design made it easy to grip and drink from.
