TPCO — Restaurant in Ragusa

So disappointed. They weren't busy and we asked to sit outside and we were promptly forgotten about for a good 20 minutes. It was about 8pm and there were plenty of people eating inside. Finally, our order was taken. I really just wanted a glass of wine and a nice salad. My wine arrived but my husband's beer was also forgotten and not brought to the table until we went inside and asked about it. The food came and the salad was very basic/boring and undressed. They gave me oil and vinegar to dress it but it was so underwhelming, iceberg, tomatoes, a few pieces of fennel and carrots. We also ordered the grilled vegetables and that was the biggest disappointment. I don't think they marinated or even added oil to the vegetables. They had grill marks but were basically raw. The eggplant was dry and bitter, the zucchini was crunchy. Nothing was seasoned. It's not hard to drizzle oil and salt. The menu states 1.50€ coperto but we were charged 2€/person. I know we're not in the middle of tourist season but to grab a beer you'd expect it to come to the table and your food...

To be fair, we never actually ate here. we asked for a table for two, the woman seemed rather annoyed that we didn’t have a reservation. although there were a few tables open, she asked us to wait. We stood outside for about 10 minutes among others who were dining. Eventually they set up a table outside Far from everyone, they brought us menus but never offered us water, in fact he never came back. Other tables were seated immediately were given menus, they poured wine for them, took their orders and we sat there waiting. After 30 minutes we left. There was no need to be that rude. They could simply have told us that they have no tables without a reservation and we would’ve gladly gone somewhere else. We have made several trips to Italy, this is our first time in Sicily and we never encountered anyone anywhere that treated us like this. Maybe they just didn’t like American tourists, all the other guess that were seated...

What a fantastic restaurant, we were greated by a young lady who showed us to a table, although she spoke some English she also suffered our attempts at Italian! 👍 Both her and the young gent were patient professional and polite! Thankyou! The food was outstanding my wife and daughter had the seared amberjack and myself the stuffed calamari, for starters we had the meatballs and aubergine, the atmosphere was also perfect we could have sat there drinking wine all night! A must...
