This store is good for the tourists who usually come from abroad and are willing to spend money buying local wines without getting into 'trouble' of looking any further. The wines offered are extremely overpriced, more than double of what you pay if you buy them directly from the producer. You can also find them cheaper at other stores in the area. At the end of the day it comes down to this: If you don't have time or you're not willing to look around and have money to spend, this is a good place. If on the other hand you value your hard earned money, just do some 'homework' before you visit Cinque Terre and go directly to the local wineries.
Edit: As a response to your response, I never said that there is cheap Cinque Terre DOC wine, I said that every bottle of the local wine you offer can be found for less than half the price if bought directly from the producer. It can be found for less money in other stores in the area. Also, I prefer to hear the winemaking story directly from the winemaker who works at the vineyards with his/her bare hands than from the lady at the store. You say she is an expert, please allow me to have a different opinion. I have visited more than 50 wineries in France, Italy, Spain, Croatia and Greece so my review is based on my experiences. I did not have any intention to insult you or something, it is just my opinion that your place is a good place for tourists who don't know much about wine and are willing to spend money without thinking than for real wine lovers. Be well and you have...
Read moreCelebrated our engagement at Cantina Marinella, and it was an experience we'll cherish forever. Maria, the heart and soul of this enchanting enoteca, went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable.
From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in warmth and genuine hospitality. Maria took us on a journey through the vineyards, sharing the rich history and passion behind each sip of local wine. Her knowledge and love for the craft were palpable, turning a simple wine tasting into an immersive experience.
But it wasn't just about the wine; it was about the connections forged over glasses clinking and laughter echoing through the air. Maria's attention to detail extended to the delicious food pairings that elevated the tasting to a culinary delight.
What truly sets Cantina Marinella apart is Maria herself. Her infectious enthusiasm and genuine care made us feel like part of the family. As we raised our glasses to toast our engagement, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the memories created in this charming corner of Cinque Terre.
Thank you, Maria, for an experience that touched our hearts and ignited our spirits. We'll be back to create more memories and share more laughter in this little slice...
Read moreI had the most wonderful experience here. I stumbled in as I was exploring and wanting a glass of wine on my break from hiking Cinque Terre, thinking I was done for the day. Maria was the most welcoming and affable host, and we ended up talking up a storm. She creates an environment where people just want to come in and spend time meeting one another and telling stories. She even convinced me to not end my hike here, but continue on to finish at Riomaggiore (“Go! Go! You have to do it!”). Then she gave me restaurant recommendations in the various towns “for after I finish my hike”, saying “This is where I eat, this is where I recommend!” I did indeed hike to Riomaggiore, then chose one of her recommendations for dinner and it was one of my favorite meals in all of Italy. I would come back and do the entire wine tasting experience if she wasn’t already all booked up. Grazie, Maria for not only the wonderful wine, but moreso for being so special and crafting such a wonderful and...
