I would avoid this place. We had an awful interaction with the “manager.” Firstly I ordered a san pellagrino aranciata. He brought me out a fanta. He said “yes this is it” when I said I didn’t want the Fanta. After explaining I cannot drink this he brought me the right drink. I have no idea why he tried to bluff me to be honest. Secondly, my pasta was uncooked. I showed the waitress, she agreed and brought me out a new meal within 1min. Unfortunately this was less cooked than the first meal. It was raw. My husband’s matriciana- the sauce must have been out of can, it was terrible. No bacon pieces. Absolutely no love in that sauce. Having travelled extensively throughout Italy (over 20 times!!) we know what al Dante and nice sauces should taste like. But the real reason for the one star reviewed is we decided to just not eat our meals and explained we will pay it. It wasn’t worth arguing over and we just wanted to move onto another restaurant to have dinner. What we didn’t expect was a barrage of abuse by the manager even though we paid for the meal!!! I mean we are paying for meals we haven’t eaten (even though we were entitled too) because it wasn’t worth it. His colleagues were absolutely shocked by the way he spoke to us. So be aware, if there is any issue with your meal you won’t be able to talk to them politely. Oh I forgot .., there was hair in our bruschetta to add to the...
Read moreMy friends and I went to eat at this restaurant after walking along the Trastevere area in Rome. We were a table of 3 and the host (whose name I would later learn was Daniele), prepared a table especially for us outside in the cool Trastevere air. When we asked what was the best pasta at the restaurant, Daniele told us that the carbonara was excellent and that Bolognese pasta (which we had asked about) was not available at the restaurant.
The carbonara was simply fantastic. It was so good, we ordered a SECOND helping of carbonara to share and we also cleaned that plate completely. The service was fantastic, with our orders coming quickly and they even took care of the food allergies. The food and service were both amazing and I strongly recommend eating at Bacco in Trastevere. In particular, I would like to commend Daniele's service which really made the night excellent. Have the pasta here, you...
Read moreVisited this restaurant in Early June 2018 as part of a week long trip to Rome. It was by far our worst restaurant experience. Food was ok..when it eventually arrived. Only 5 of us yet 2 main courses didn't arrive for a full 20 minutes. Manager was ignorant and rude and completely incompetent. The rest of the staff didn't seem to know what was going on and left everything to him which was unfortunate. He blamed everyone else for the delay and was completely dishonest in terms of what he told us. When I told him I didn't expect to pay for the 2 meals that didn't arrive for 20 minutes he threatened me and said he would call the police. I had no problem with that but it seems he was a coward too as didn't charge us for the 2 meals. We left immediately and went elsewhere for desserts and coffee. Avoid this restaurant if you can or better still go to the excellent...
