These are the notes I made while staying here for two weeks in May 2019. Very nice staff, easy booking directly with the "hotel" there is good and bad but overall you would enjoy this small place. Here are my notes, we stayed in the jacuzzi room:
No where comfortable to sit, they need to replace the writing desk with something more functional. Barely hot water with VERY low pressure which also makes it challenging to fill the massive jacuzzi Jacuzzi does not work well at all Neon lights inside the windows, poor placement for trying to sleep Air conditioning is not good, we used the breeze of open windows but that is very noisy. Daily cleaning is great Towels good Beds ok, but very small Nowhere to put anything, closets had 3 hangers no drawers not even sufficient places to hang towels. Safe was small but good. No shelves or space to get ready in the morning in the bathroom. Noisy crowds at the bars next door and you must walk through these people to get to the gate/front door. Theses crowds do not like tourists. Front desk staff is very nice but this is not like a hotel staff. They are not always there. Great location if you want heart of trastevere, We adored Trastevere but you will be in the heart of a very bustling nightlife. Nothing offered on TV, DVDs would have been nice or on demand to relax with in evenings. Stairs are awful, no hand rails, glass floor. Very clean Great restaurants and bars very close
All in all a good place but I would not stay here again, or if I did it would not be...
Read moreI stayed here for two nights in mid-November 2018. Check in was smooth, and as I arrived in the afternoon, the desk was staffed. I am uncertain how after hours check in may work, as the desk is not staffed in the evening. The location is close to many shops, restaurants, bars, and the Villa Farnesina but is a fair distance from the Vatican, so build in travel time to get to other areas of Rome if this is your home base. The hotel has an elevator, which is nice as there are many stairs and hauling suitcases up the steps would have been a pretty major chore. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and white linens. The washroom had an unusual shape but the space was well used and included a bidet. Wifi is available for free throughout the rooms with good connectivity. |The only drawback and my reason for removing one star, is that the location is a bit noisy. I realize that, like in many areas of Rome, people eat and drink well into the night, and spontaneous parties can happen anytime, and they can be noisy. However, I had a 3am departure for the airport on a Monday morning, and had hoped for a somewhat early night to get some rest, but the restaurant below was only closing up when my cab arrived to take me to the airport. If you are looking for a quiet location I wouldn't recommend these rooms, but for everyone else...
Read moreI am really sad to be writing a negative review for this hotel that we have so enjoyed previously. This was our 4th stay, previous visits were in May or September and temperature control wasn’t an issue then. This end of August stay was miserable thanks to the barely functioning AC. Entered the room at a stifling 27.5 degrees... “AC” full blast for two days brought it down to only 26. It was so brutal that we re-arranged the bed to be right next to the fan unit (which also brought us closer to the noise from the window...our room “Alvina” faced the street directly and was much noisier than previous rooms we’ve stayed in.) When we complained, the guy at the desk seemed very annoyed and could care less: “you think 26 is too hot?”||If it weren’t for the AC issue, I’d rate this 4 stars. The decor is outstanding, very chic, great lighting. Good water pressure in shower. Well located. They previously gave a breakfast voucher for a cornetto and coffee at a neighboring cafe, but that seems to be over (now a little espresso machine in the lobby, when I went there were no pods). ||To say this place is air conditioned is false advertising. If you are in Rome when it’s not so oppressively hot, I’d still...
