My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out for breakfast as I have been living in Italy as an expat (from Canada) and was missing north American breakfast. I decided to ask for a table even though my italian native boyfriend speaks italian and that seemed to be a mistake as from that point we were looked at differently. The restaurant had half of the tables inside available, however the waitress (who was alone, so I understand maybe why not in the best of moods; however with that being said...not in a lovely or welcoming mood) told us we can only sit outside and in this one table that was in pure sun with zero shade. After 10 minutes of waiting to even be greeted, my boyfriends shirt was drenched. I nicely asked if there's anyway to move and she told us no. It was insanely frustrating to watch all of these free tables (I counted five) inside while we suffered eating our very overpriced breakfast outside in the blazing sun. I quickly realized that all English speaking people were being put outside (as everyone on the patio was speaking English) and italian natives inside. It felt very discriminatory.
The waitress had a bad attitude, and in my opinion this is something that will kill a business, especially during this new age of recession from covid. When she put my dish down I said thank you and she said "k". When she realized my boyfriend spoke italian she just started speaking in Italian which I also found a bit rude considering we both speak English and were speaking English to her. When I asked to pay she literally dismissively 'waved me' out of the inside area (which is where you have to pay) as if I wasn't allowed to be inside, yet that's the only place you can pay with card. I could go on about how terrible this waitresses service was all day, but I digress at this point. Hopefully this business will reevaluate their service staff as I have read this in the reviews already.
Overall consensus is that the food was alright, but not at all worth the price, and the service alone would prevent me from ever returning. There are many other places for an English style breakfast so don't stop here...Rome is big and I'm sure there are other businesses that would be appreciative of business right now during a time when there's...
Read moreVery disappointed!!! I came in 2018 and it was delicious. The products seemed fresh and homemade. I liked it so much that it was unthinkable not to come on my second trip in Rome. But had I known I'd definitely not come. I ordered a cinnamon peanut butter jelly toast it was supposedly a brioche bread (very good one in 2018) it was just toast and it was stale the peanut butter and jelly only in the middle the cook didn't even make the effort to spread it right. We were one of two tables so it wasn't because it was too busy. I send it back and they asked me if I wanted something else so I asked for French toast and as they made it in a hurry it wasn't even completely cooked. Of course I was charged for the french toast even if it wad their fault they first served me old bread (it is ok but definitely not customer friendly service) last but not least there was no light in their bathroom so it was completely dark and the waitress just laughed and said yes yes I know the lightbulb is broken. Like it was funny and normal you can't use their bathroom. The pancakes were ok but for 12 euro I expect more than 2 slices of bacon with them. Also the carrot cake for 7 euro is crazy we didn't even try it after the very bad brunch experience. Oh also it was the worst coffee we had in our 2 week Rome stay. All in all a very disappointing experience and I will definitely not be back on my next...
Read moreI recently visited Coromandel restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with rude and unwelcoming behavior from the waitresses, especially the younger one. This kind of attitude does not create a pleasant dining atmosphere.
Furthermore, despite all the marketing hype I had seen on TikTok, the food itself was nothing out of the ordinary. It was just average and lacked the flavors and creativity that were advertised. I expected much more considering the buzz surrounding this place, but it definitely did not meet my expectations.
What made matters worse was the horrendous service that I received throughout my visit. The lack of attentiveness and the constant rudeness from the waitstaff left a bitter taste in my mouth. It's truly unfortunate when the service doesn't match the quality of the food, or in this case, the lack thereof.
Overall, I cannot recommend this breakfast restaurant. The rude and disrespectful behavior of the waitresses, together with the average food and disappointing experience, make it clear that this place is simply not worth the visit. There are many other breakfast options available that offer outstanding food and exceptional service, so I would suggest exploring...
