Wow, wow, wow! Our visit to Gelateria del Teatro in September of 2023 was nothing short of extraordinary. Tucked away in a quaint corner, this hidden gem left an unforgettable impression on our taste buds. Even now, months later, I can still vividly recall the exquisite flavors of their gelato, particularly the pistachio and lemon varieties.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with the enticing aroma of freshly made gelato. The display of vibrant colors and tempting flavors beckoned us closer, and we eagerly indulged in a sampling of their offerings. Each spoonful was a revelation, bursting with rich, creamy goodness that surpassed any gelato we had ever tasted before.
The pistachio gelato was a revelation, with its intense nuttiness and velvety texture. It was a true testament to the quality of ingredients and craftsmanship that goes into every batch at Gelateria del Teatro. Equally impressive was the lemon gelato, which transported us to the sunny orchards of Italy with its bright, zesty flavor.
But it's not just the exceptional gelato that sets this place apart. The service was warm and welcoming, with staff members who were passionate about their craft and eager to help us navigate the menu. Despite the bustling atmosphere, they took the time to ensure that each customer felt valued and well taken care of.
And let's talk about affordability. Despite offering gelato that could easily command premium prices, Gelateria del Teatro remains refreshingly affordable. It's a rare find in today's world, where quality often comes at a steep price. Here, you can indulge in the finest gelato without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Gelateria del Teatro is a true gem in the world of gelato. Whether you're a connoisseur seeking out the ultimate indulgence or simply looking for a sweet treat to brighten your day, this place delivers on every front. With impeccable flavors, friendly service, and wallet-friendly prices, it's no wonder that Gelateria del Teatro has earned a reputation as the best...
Read more“Worst customer service I have ever had in Rome”
All I wanted was to get the ice cream and be respected as a person, we ain’t no animals. I’m going to start with a fact that I stood in the queue with my mom to get our ice cream and suddenly an Italian lady came and stood right before me in the line. She was not friends with the customers who were standing before me and still she came out of nowhere and stood before us. At that moment a black lady who called the next customer to come started asking what she would like to purchase. At this moment I told the girl that she came in the queue right before me and took my turn and that it is us who should be served. She acted odd, she said that “we’re so RuDe” however without further problems she still let us get whatever we wanted as it was our turn.
And here is your customer service problem Gelateria del Teatro. Your worker took the side of the Italian lady and was disrespectfully taking care of our orders. She was cutting the scoops amount ( I’ve seen what others were giving to other customers and it was way more), then her passive-agressive behavior came to visibility when she finally gave us the ice cream and asked for 10 euros. She literally took it out of my hand quickly and told me a most disrespectful “bye” ever. I can tell she wanted to teach us a lesson but for no reason she judged us so quickly which was already super offensive.
PS: We were aware of the amount of the scoops she was giving, she saw us talking about it and then he started even commenting on it… this was the worst I have experienced today, this ain’t professional, nobody asked her for her opinion.
This wasn’t even her business of what had happened between me and the other customer. She should just behave like everyone was behaving. This ain’t acceptable and someone should talk to this “out of control” worker, maybe she just should quit if she represents your company like this.
Your ice cream was okay but could be better if you have had someone else who actually can control...
Read moreI just spent a few days in Rome and following a passion checked out the majority of the gelato shops in the main tourist area. Out of all the shops there are it was the delightful and delicious offerings at the Gelateria del Teatro that had me return for encores! Along with the best cast of classic flavours I tasted, notable appearances were made by Zabaione with Zibibbo, Chocolate fondent, Chocolate with Nero d’Avola, Sage and raspberry and a wonderfully floral Lavender and white peach. It was not just that the flavours were outstanding that I went back it was also because all their gelato is made with quality individual ingredients, no pre-mixes or artificial anything. Using their own tried and trusted recipes, every flavour is delicious and well balanced and every scoop delightfully smooth and luscious. The term ‘Artisinal’ can truly be applied to Gelareria del Teatro. The theatre of the staff engaged in the process of making this wonderful gelato, from cutting the fresh fruit to layering the freshly frozen creaminess into the napoli containers, which can be observed through the glass walls of the laboratory in each shop, show just how ‘handmade’ this gelati is. They have two locations, the main shop on the Via dei Coronari has all the gelato flavours plus a delectable selection of pastries including traditional cannoli. The second smaller shop on Lungotevere dei Vallati near Campo di Fiori market. On a sunny corner facing Trastevere across the river it is the perfect place for a gala gelato...
