This is where I had the best carbonara in Rome, we quickly realized that to have authentic Italian food you need to get out into the suburbs, Rome is just one big tourist trap. So we got on the Metro and headed out into the burbs and so glad we did. A wonderful family run restaurant serving great Italian cuisine. Wine list had 2 choices, vino bianca or vino Rosso and let me tell you the rossa was blinking good. But the carbonara stole the show. Service was slow but hey it was a Sunday and most places are closed and to add insult to injury we hadn't booked. Sat next to a table of Americans who also couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. The bruschetta was proper, over ripe tomatoes with garlic and amazing olive oil on ciabatta, unlike central Rome where you get this pale imitation of bruschetta on weird bread...

If I could give this 'Restaurant' Zero,I would. It was virtually empty(on an evening)which is never a good first impression. I ordered Beer and my Wife a Pina Colada, the Waiter brought my drink but not my wife's. After a few minutes I asked about her drink "No Pina Colada" was his response. Would of been nice for Waiter to tell us!!!.. Pasta Starter under cooked(chewy Pasta). Main Course, wife's Spinach just quickly boiled,my main course was Beef Steak, what I got was a beef frying steak, thin, overcooked(I asked for rare)and gristle. Complained that a steak is normally thick not thin fillet like, waiter kept trying to say"that is steak here in Italy"....No it's not..Didn't pay for steak and will never go back.. Don't understand the...

We rocked up here on a Monday night without any notice. We were the only ones in the restaurant but that was a bonus. (it was Monday night!) We were watching our meals bring prepared. Great stuff. This is old fashioned, proper, Nona cooking. They couldn’t have been more helpful and gave us the English menu but clearly got that we knew what we looking for when we asked for more details about how the veal was cooked. I had to resist the urge to ask to watch what they were up to in...

Hit, Hit, Hit, each course we had was a winner, so we went twice! Wonderful restaurant with more locals than tourists. It is a little off the beaten track but well worth it for the food and wonderful service. The specials were delicious, the main menu excellent and the desserts divine. They pride themselves on their freshly prepared menu using seasonal produce, and the proprietor was warm and friendly. Definitely worth a visit... or two!

Ive been in Italy for 15 days and in Rome for 3 days, I was very sad that I only discovered this place on the last day in the country. This was one of the best experiences and surprises I had. Really lovely food, limoncello, and the cakes.. Oh the cakes.. The bacio cake is amazing but oh the lemon cake, so awesome! Also thumbs up for the friendlyness of all the staff, they are amazing! Will be sure to get back to Rome to be here again!
